2-Bed Cottage Sleeps 4 10 mins to Glasgow Centre Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first spotted the 2-Bed Cottage Sleeps 4 10 mins to Glasgow Centre tucked away on Rowan Road, I wasn’t expecting much. The name’s a bit clinical, you know? But actually walking up to this little place in the Southside completely changed my mind. There’s something really charming about having your own proper cottage just outside Glasgow‘s hustle and bustle, especially when you’re traveling with friends or family who need more space than your typical hotel room can offer.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know the area at all. Rowan Road sits in one of those quiet residential pockets where you get a genuine feel for how locals actually live – none of that touristy sterile stuff. I mean, you’re still only ten minutes from the city center (and they’re not exaggerating about that), but you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic. The cottage itself feels properly lived-in without being worn down, if that makes sense. Two bedrooms that actually fit four people comfortably, which is rarer than you’d think – I’ve stayed in places that technically sleep four but leave someone on a glorified shelf. Here, everyone gets actual sleeping space and there’s still room to spread out your stuff without tripping over each other.

What really sold me on this place was the kitchen situation. You know how most short-term rentals have those sad little kitchenettes with one working burner and a microwave from 1995? Not here. This one’s got everything you need to actually cook proper meals, which honestly saves you a fortune when you’re not eating out for every single meal in Glasgow (and trust me, that adds up fast). The whole setup just works – you can grab groceries from the local shops, cook breakfast at a reasonable hour without disturbing other hotel guests, and actually relax in the evening instead of hanging out in some generic hotel lobby. Plus, parking‘s not the nightmare it usually is in this part of town, which anyone who’s driven around Glasgow will appreciate. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury by any stretch, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world, especially when you just want a proper base to explore the city from.

Reviews of 2-Bed Cottage Sleeps 4 10 mins to Glasgow Centre

  • Cosy with a great location! – Abbie from United Kingdom – February 7, 2025 (9/10)

The location!! I loved how close it was to Ibrox stadium as we were there for the tour of the museum and a game on the Sunday. It was well designed and cozy perfect for our stay! Amerah was great and also let us park our vehicle before check in due to a tour we were going on so we could leave our bags!

What could be improved: It was way too hot when we arrived so had to open a few windows to cool the bathrooms and bedrooms off! The lack of things like tea, coffee etc would be a nice touch!

  • Nice Comfortable stay – Rebecca from United Kingdom – July 13, 2025 (7/10)

Lovely grounds and in a pleasant area. We stayed for TRNSMT festival and it was easy enough to get to Glasgow green in a taxi. Would be a great spot for Ibrox. Local shops close by too. The house was nice and comfortable.

What could be improved: Lack of adequate glassware. Old sponge for washing dishes, welcome hamper with out of date food.

  • Great stay in Glasgow, superb location. – Alison from United Kingdom – July 6, 2025 (8/10)

Location was superb for us. Beautiful setting, situated down a private drive next to a very grand property. The cottage was lovely, clean and obviously refurbished quite recently. The rooms are large and spacious.

What could be improved: The property would benefit from another sofa. We were two couples staying over and this would have helped to be more comfortable.

  • Great for the price, super close to Ibrox and motorway – Doreen from United Kingdom – April 27, 2025 (9/10)

Spacious & roomy, 3 bathrooms (the wet room is directly off the kitchen tho) whirlpool bath in single room was a hit too. Great quiet location even tho just off the motorway
Main bedroom bed is v v low …we were ok but maybe difficult for some to get in and out of

What could be improved: Dishwasher says “sorry not working” & a sticker on wet room saying broken tile (another reviewer noted this from Dec)
There was washing in the washing machine & cooker had dirty trays inside
One wine glass/plastic champagne type flutes and random other glasses & crockery ….all of these issues could be put right really easily

Tricky property to find & host didnt answer phone calls or emails …that’s disappointing after a 7 hour drive

  • December getaway – Ebony from United Kingdom – December 23, 2024 (7/10)

The cottage was a really good size, great location 10 minute walk from Ibrox and the owner was kind enough to let us check in 30 minutes early. This was greatly appreciated after a 5 hour journey.
The facilities there are great for the largest part, practically home from home.
Bath in the main ensuite is fabulous!

What could be improved: Slightly disappointed that both tin openers were broken so we were unable to finish a meal we'd cooked but more disappointed that I sent a text to the owner and tried to call just to ask if they had another (the cottage was on the grounds of a large home) and this was ignored.
I wouldn't have minded if there wasn't one- I just didn't appreciate not being responded to by the host.
There is a tile loose in the downstairs bathroom, which meant that insects were able to enter the cottage through the floor and with the cold winter weather, they did just that. The downstairs bathroom is located in the kitchen dining room and on Sunday morning there were at least 10 insects crawling/flying around.

  • Exceptional – Teresa from United Kingdom – June 23, 2025 (10/10)

Loved our stay at this tranquil cottage set in a peaceful location close to Bellahouston Park and with easy access to the motorway. The cottage is well equipped, spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

  • Exceptional – Seamus from United Kingdom – May 4, 2025 (10/10)

A well equipped & comfortable cottage that is a short drive from the motorway.

  • Great place for a short getaway – Mihail from United Kingdom – August 22, 2025 (10/10)

Nice place. With 3 bathrooms. Nothing to be critical about. Very clean.

What could be improved: Small bed mattress requires replacement. Very uncomfortable.

  • Felt a bit abandoned, poor communication from the host – Yvonne from United Kingdom – July 31, 2025 (4/10)

It was clean and comfortable and more spacious than expected.

What could be improved: We originally couldn’t find the property as there had been no directions given to let us know it was at the back of another building. When we finally arrived we couldn’t get in as we hadn’t received the code. Couldn’t get hold of host and a neighbour let us in. There was no hot water for the first day and there was no additional bedding for our 4th person. There was a lack of glasses and the cups were chipped

  • Very Good – Sebastien from Greece – July 10, 2025 (8/10)

    Très calme et confortable !
