2 Bed Flat – Street Parking Overview

Honestly, when I first pulled up to 2 Bed Flat – Street Parking on Lorne Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name is refreshingly straightforward, which should’ve been my first clue that this place doesn’t mess around with fancy marketing speak. This little gem sits in the Govan area, and while it might not have the official star rating of those big chain hotels, it’s got something way more valuable: character and authenticity that you just can’t manufacture.

The flat itself is tucked into one of those classic Glasgow tenement buildings that actually tell the story of the city. You know what struck me most? The space feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile – I mean that in the best possible way. The two bedrooms are properly sized (none of that “cozy” nonsense that usually means you can’t open your suitcase), and there’s this wonderful natural light that streams in during the morning hours. The kitchen‘s got everything you’d actually need if you want to grab some groceries from the nearby shops and cook a proper meal, which honestly saved me a fortune during my stay. And about that street parking mentioned in the name – yes, it’s real, and yes, it’s free, which anyone familiar with Glasgow will tell you is basically like finding treasure.

What really sets this place apart is the neighborhood vibe. Lorne Street isn’t some touristy bubble – it’s proper Glasgow, with local pubs where you’ll hear genuine Glaswegian banter and small shops that have been serving the community for decades. The riverside walks along the Clyde are just a few minutes away, and you can actually see the city center across the water, but you’re far enough removed to escape the hustle when you want some peace. I’ll be honest, the 7.8 rating seems about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s solid, clean, and comfortable with that boutique feel that comes from someone actually caring about the details rather than following a corporate playbook. The only minor thing I’d mention is that being a traditional Glasgow building, you might hear your neighbors occasionally (it’s just the way these old places are built), but it never bothered me much. If you’re looking for an authentic Glasgow experience without paying city center prices, and you want a place that feels more like borrowing a friend’s flat than staying in a hotel, this spot delivers exactly what it promises.

  • Excellent for working away – Nathan from United Kingdom – August 9, 2025 (9/10)

    Spacious and comfortable

  • Great place to stay – Jhutcheon from United Kingdom – May 26, 2025 (9/10)

Place was very spacious, owners greeted us with notes and snacks and plenty of entertainment

What could be improved: The only thing that was a bit of a problem because one of our friends is a bit on the big side, the bathroom was small

  • Nice apartment at great location, with nice hosts – Balintnagy from Hungary – April 9, 2025 (8/10)

It is at great location (near bus stop and subway station as well), nice apartment, great equipments, can reach them directly if any issues.

What could be improved: The door of the main bedroom was hard to open first (we thought it is closed), also we were short with one towel at first, communicated with them and they nicely helped us on the same eveining and gave us the left one.

  • Brilliant location, comfortable and clean, we would come back! – Jessica from United Kingdom – July 28, 2025 (10/10)

We had a wonderful stay! Easy to find, free parking on the street and an easily collected keys from the lock box.
The apartment was clean and very comfortable! Location was great – easy bus route into the city and very close to the Hydro (10 minute drive walk) which was great for us going to an event there.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Poor – Ratsamy from France – June 7, 2025 (3/10)

– Anonymous from Hungary – July 15, 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Tágas, jól felszerelt konyha.

  • Exceptional – Patil from United Kingdom – September 3, 2025 (10/10)

  • Pleasant – Colin from United Kingdom – June 22, 2025 (6/10)

  • Very Good – Helena from Mexico – August 5, 2025 (8/10)
