2 bed Renfield st City Center Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the 2 bed Renfield st City Center, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the exterior. It’s tucked into this busy stretch of Renfield Street where you’ve got everything from chain restaurants to vintage shops, and the building itself is pretty no-frills. But you know what? Sometimes those unassuming places end up surprising you, and this spot has that whole “diamond in the rough” thing going for it.
The location is actually brilliant if you think about it – you’re literally in the heart of Glasgow without paying those ridiculous city center hotel prices. I mean, you can walk to Buchanan Street in about three minutes, and Sauchiehall Street is right there when you want to grab a proper Scottish breakfast or hunt down some vintage finds. The apartment itself feels more spacious than you’d expect from the street view, with two decent-sized bedrooms that don’t make you feel like you’re sleeping in a shoebox. The kitchen‘s basic but functional – I managed to make coffee and toast without any drama, though don’t expect fancy appliances or anything. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re on such a busy street. Those old Glasgow buildings have thick walls, apparently.
Here’s the thing though – this place operates more like a short-term rental than a traditional hotel, so don’t expect daily housekeeping or someone at a front desk 24/7. The check-in process was straightforward enough, but you definitely need to be comfortable with that self-service approach. The neighborhood gets pretty lively on weekends (especially Friday nights), but honestly, that’s part of Glasgow’s charm. You’ll hear some street noise during the day, but it never felt overwhelming – just the usual city sounds of buses and people going about their business. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare around here, so I’d recommend looking into the nearby multi-story car parks if you’re driving. The 6.4 rating might seem middling, but I think it reflects the no-frills approach rather than any serious problems. It’s clean, the beds are comfortable enough, and you’re getting genuine value for money in a location that would cost you twice as much at a chain hotel. Perfect for travelers who want to actually experience Glasgow rather than hide away in some sterile hotel bubble.

Reviews of 2 bed Renfield st City Center
Fair place to stay. Could be fantastic with a few changes. – Fouka from United Kingdom – June 5, 2025 (7/10)
Great location. Speedy responses from host. Place was clean.
What could be improved: Decor is tired and needs a refresh, although the appartment was certainly clean apart from the wall next to the kitchen bin. Showers were very low pressure and scalding or too cold. Poor lighting in the smaller bedroom.A great and convenient location, if you can put up with some downsides – Barry from United Kingdom – May 18, 2025 (6/10)
The property's location was brilliant. An easy walk from Glasgow Central and it was easy to get to shopping, and places to eat.
What could be improved: Some of the facilities could be better. The light in the smaller bedroom was very dim, but thankfully this was not really needed as we hung out in the living room, and then went to sleep (lights off!).
The shower cover in the en-suite was very loose and pretty much falling off? We tried turning the shower on, but the buttons did not seem to really cooperate, and we didn't get hot water out from there. So, all four of us took turns to clean up in the bathroom. It would have been nice if all shower facilities were useable, with confidence.
The view was of back alleys and fire exits. It was not an entirely pleasant view, overall.Lovely host and apartment – Fiona from United Kingdom – July 5, 2025 (7/10)
The lock box key retrieval was sent via a video which was easy to follow and simple to retrieve.
The apartment itself was large and very nicely done. Had great facilities, WiFi and beautiful features.
It’s in the centre of Glasgow so very close to anything within the city centre, including all public transport.
What could be improved: The location? I hadn’t realised it was above a very well known pub and unfortunately I did not get much sleep at all. Thankfully my daughter slept through the noise but struggled myself.Wonderful – Ullah from United Kingdom – April 19, 2025 (9/10)
Everything was fine enough, beyond my expectations
What could be improved: Parking was not available here, and it is because of in Main city center.Lovely clean comfy apartment – Harvey from United Kingdom – April 17, 2025 (10/10)
Had a lovely stay, the host was very helpful and easy to contact with quick responses. Was very clean beds sofas was so comfy and was in a perfect location right in the centre. Would defiantly recommend
Very Good – Dhakad from United States – June 7, 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: The fire extinguisher had expired
Very Good – Damon from United Kingdom – May 12, 2025 (8/10)
Great location great and clear communication from owner
Bad experience – Ankit from United Kingdom – May 11, 2025 (3/10)
Only location Near city center
What could be improved: Many things….. no cleaniness, infrastucture of apartment are not good, matteres was not comfartabel, window are not good condition even blind holds are not working…. apartment heating is not warm…. fully bad experienceGood location but apartment needs a lot of work – Michelle from United Kingdom – March 17, 2025 (3/10)
The location
What could be improved: A lot of things were broken, including the toilet seats and the showers were not working properly so very weak shower. Shower door broken, blinds were all broken in every room. The shelf in the bathroom had fallen in so not stable , curtains in the main bedroom were missing on one side and there were no curtains in second bedroom. The kitchen only had 1 glass and 3 cups for a 5 bedroom apartment so limited on being able to use the facilities. The cooker and overhead fan were grimy. and safety was a bit of a concern noting the electricals were not in date with the tests and the fire extinguisher was 5 years out of date.Half finished reno undertaken by someone with no idea how, can' – Saskia from Australia – July 2, 2025 (1/10)
Location was ok
What could be improved: Its a long list, holes in the walls, dirty walls, ligths with no shades, hanging downlights not fitted, handles that didn't work or were broken, wonky furniture, views of the drrelict building next door. If I'd paid half of what we did I would be disappointedm we should have booked a hotel and would have saved money. this place was awful
