Inside, it’s got that comfortable, lived-in feeling that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. The two bedrooms are decent sized – not huge, but you’re not bumping into walls either. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. The East End isn’t completely dead after dark, but it’s not like staying near the pubs on Sauchiehall Street where you’ll hear singing (or arguing) until 3 AM. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights. Parking was surprisingly straightforward – street parking that doesn’t require a engineering degree to understand, unlike some parts of the city center where you need three different apps just to pay for an hour.

The whole experience feels refreshingly unpretentious. It’s a 3-star place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t try to be anything fancier. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want – somewhere comfortable and genuine where you can actually relax instead of worrying about whether you’re using the right towel or making too much noise in the hallway. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere that feels real, gives you easy access to Glasgow without the tourist markup, and lets you experience the city like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through – well, despite the terrible name, this place gets it right.
