There’s a decent little corner shop practically next door, which saved me multiple times when I realized I’d forgotten toothpaste or needed milk for morning coffee.

What really won me over was how genuinely cozy the place feels – and I don’t mean that in the estate agent way where “cozy” means “tiny.” The two bedrooms are actually well-proportioned, and somehow they’ve managed to fit three proper beds without it feeling cramped. The living area has this warm, lived-in quality that makes you want to settle in with a book and a cup of tea. The kitchen‘s compact but functional (you can actually cook a proper meal, not just heat up takeaway), and there’s decent natural light throughout the day. I stayed during one of those typical Scottish weeks where it rained on and off, and the apartment never felt dark or dreary – which is saying something. The heating works properly too, something you definitely don’t take for granted in older Glasgow buildings.

Parking can be a bit of a dance around here – it’s street parking, and like most residential areas in the city, it gets busier in the evenings when everyone comes home from work. But during the day it’s fine, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you might not need the car much anyway. The bus connections are solid if you want to venture further out, and there’s something satisfying about walking down through Garnethill into the city center – you get a real sense of the city’s layout that way. I’d say this place works particularly well if you’re visiting Glasgow for more than just a quick weekend. It gives you that sense of actually living in the city for a bit, rather than just passing through.
