4 Beds – City Gateway Getaway Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, 4 Beds – City Gateway Getaway caught me off guard in the best way possible. This four-star property sits in Glasgow’s south side, and while the name might sound a bit corporate, the reality is much more welcoming. The moment you pull up, you’ll notice the free parking right on site — which, trust me, is gold in Glasgow. I mean, finding decent parking in this city can be a proper nightmare, so having your own guaranteed spot already puts this place ahead of the game.
The Space That Works
What really sets this place apart is how they’ve thought about space. Each room feels deliberately designed rather than just thrown together, and you can tell they’ve actually considered how people travel these days. The four-bed setup works brilliantly whether you’re a family needing separate spaces or a group of friends who want their own corners. The beds themselves are genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable, but the kind where you actually sleep well. There’s enough storage that you’re not living out of suitcases, which honestly makes such a difference for stays longer than a night or two.
Location That Actually Makes Sense
The south Glasgow location is smarter than it might initially seem. You’re close enough to the city center that getting there is easy, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant noise and chaos. The transport links are solid — buses run regularly, and if you’re driving, you can actually get around without wanting to tear your hair out. What I particularly liked is that you’re near some proper local spots, not just tourist traps. There are decent pubs within walking distance, and the kind of shops where actual Glaswegians go, which gives you a better feel for the city.
The Details That Matter
You know what impressed me most? The little things they got right. The WiFi actually works properly throughout the space, the heating responds when you adjust it, and there’s enough hot water for everyone. The kitchen setup is practical rather than just for show — you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to, not just heat up instant noodles. Recent guests have been rating the location highly, and I can see why. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that makes sense, rather than just the cheapest option or the flashiest one.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.4 rating tells the real story here, but what stands out is how couples have particularly taken to this place. There’s something about the setup that works well for romantic getaways — maybe it’s having space to spread out while still feeling cozy together. The combination of being well-located without being right in the thick of everything, plus having your own parking and proper amenities, creates this nice balance. You’re not roughing it, but you’re also not paying for a bunch of fancy extras you won’t use. It’s the kind of place that just works, which honestly is rarer than you’d think in the accommodation game.
Best hotels in Glasgow blend tartan lounges, whisky cabinets, and chef-led haggis tastings.

Location was great for Bellahouston Park – 1 mile walk. Plenty space in the rooms and Shops near by were handy.
What could be improved: As we were a party of six, an extra bathroom would of been ideal and the entrance to the tenement needs attentionWould def stay again as lovely comfy flat with plenty of space for us all. – Jane from United Kingdom – May 18, 2025 (9/10)

Comfortable property in a great location for the SECC. Clean and provided what we expected when booking.
What could be improved: Shower had to be ran for 10 mins to get hot water. Once it was switched off the next person couldn’t get hot water at all. We left the shower on and all had to shower straight after each other!Perfect accommodation with brilliant customer service – Lisa from United Kingdom – January 28, 2025 (10/10)
It was everything we expected and more
What could be improved: Loved everythingOverall, the apartment was close to local bus stops and was clean, just a shame about the heating/h. – Sarah from United Kingdom – December 2, 2024 (7/10)
Apartment was clean & communication with host was great.
What could be improved: No clear instruction on how to work heating & unfortunately didn’t have any hot water for the duration of our stay meaning the 6 guests were unable to get showers & we were unable to wash our dishes to our highest standards. There was quite a lot of noise from football fans over the weekend at the surrounding pubs which we didn’t realise were so close meaning we were disturbed quite a lot.Lovely Lorne Street stay – Colin from United Kingdom – December 1, 2024 (10/10)
Everything you need is supplied. The small touches of decor make the space very homely and warm
What could be improved: We had an issue with hot water but it was sorted out quickly.
