Argyle Apartment Overview

You know what struck me first about Argyle Apartment? It’s basically someone’s really nice flat that they’ve decided to rent out to travelers – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. Tucked away on the fourth floor of a typical Glasgow tenement building right on Argyle Street, this place gives you that authentic local living experience that most hotels just can’t match.

I mean, let’s be real – at 6.6 out of 10, it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something refreshingly honest about staying somewhere that doesn’t try too hard. The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it. You’re smack in the middle of Glasgow’s city center, so you can stumble back from the pubs on Merchant City without breaking the bank on taxis, and you’re walking distance to all the main shopping areas. The building itself has that classic Glasgow sandstone character – you know, the kind where you have to buzz in through the main door and climb a few flights of stairs. Fair warning though, it can get a bit noisy since you’re literally above one of the busier streets, especially on weekend nights when people are heading to and from the bars.

What I really appreciated was how it felt like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen was properly stocked (not just a kettle and some sad instant coffee), and there was enough space to actually unpack your stuff and settle in for a few days. The shower had decent pressure – which, if you’ve stayed in some of Glasgow’s older buildings, you’ll know isn’t always a given. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare around there during the day, but that’s just city center life. I’d say if you’re looking for that boutique hotel experience with all the fancy touches, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere genuine and unpretentious where you can live like a Glaswegian for a week, it’s actually quite perfect. Plus, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Central Station, which makes getting around Scotland incredibly easy – I ended up taking spontaneous day trips to Edinburgh and Stirling just because it was so convenient.

Reviews of Argyle Apartment

  • Very Good – Rufus from United Kingdom – May 30, 2025 (8/10)

Good location between SEC and city centre

  • It's really good to stay there and would love to stay there again during our next Convention – Philemon from United Kingdom – July 28, 2025 (9/10)

    The serenity and cleanliness

What could be improved: The noise from the boiler whe taps were turned on and the balcony doors not locking. Also, additional cooking pots should be provided

  • Disapointing and not worth the money – Anonymous from United Kingdom – September 1, 2025 (3/10)

The property is in a good location

What could be improved: Is was quite dirty, all of things broken(blinds kitchen, cupboard, toilet seats, blinds a window that would not close. In a bad state of repair

  • Gyenge szállás – Balázs from Hungary – June 2, 2025 (3/10)

    Nem sok

What could be improved: Nem hiszem, hogy volt egyáltalán takarítva a lakás, érkezésünk elött.

  • Exceptional – Riya from United Kingdom – April 9, 2025 (10/10)
