Couples especially seem to love it here — and I get why, it’s got that quieter, more relaxed feel that makes a trip together actually feel like a break. The fact that there’s free private parking on site is genuinely useful, particularly if you’re planning to explore the wider area by car.

  Beautiful setting, clean and tidy, very good equipment kitchen area, local to everything g you could need, simple check in, peaceful and quiet this is our fourth time staying f here and will definitely be back x

  We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Auchenlea Lodge! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, really making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Their knowledge of the local area was impressive, and they provided us with recommendations where we could eat, and directed us to the railway station (5 minutes walk away) if we fancied going into Glasgow .
  The lodge itself was cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Throughout the day we were able to meet our neighbours, which were some lovely horses with their foals.
  
  We would definitely be going back to Auchenlea Lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming retreat

  Best place I have stayed in for ages!!! So much better than all the terrible glasgow posh hotels that are really quite awful.

  the lodge was so lovely, it was comfortable and decorated well
  it had everything that you needed
  super comfy bed and all nice touches throughout
  shower was good even though was electric, I normally find electric showers totally useless

  Bathroom needed a bit of a better clean…towel rail was dusty and large cobwebs in corners of bathroom

  So cosy and welcoming with a well kitted kitchenette.

  What could be improved: The property was amazing, fresh, clean and comfortable but the traffic was a bit loud in the morning but not unbearable by any stretch. . Also, the buses to Glasgow and Edinburgh run every 30 ish minutes and the train from Glasgow was severely disrupted.
  If you have a car it would absolutely perfect but although close to Glasgow Central and the station is close to the property,the trains can be iffy. Maybe it was a one off.
  Either way, I had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend.
  Lovely equine neighbours too!

  Beautiful furniture in the room and everything exceptionally clean. When there was an issue with the hot water it was sorted immediately.
  Facilities and equipment to cook/heat a small meal are very good.
  The outside was also well maintained with patio table and seating. Grounds well maintained also.
  
  What could be improved: The main thing we didn't like was the noise from nearby traffic early in the morning but I think if we had been there for more than one night we would have got used to this.

  the room was immaculate when we got there – my girlfriend and i have contamination ocd so it’s a BIG deal that it felt incredibly clean to us. the location was amazing! it was quiet and calm but close enough to glasgow for us to get there easily. waking up and saying hello to the horses was probably the highlight of the stay. we spoke to the owner on our way out and she was so kind 🙂
