Broompark House Overview
You know, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Broompark House on that quiet residential street in the East End – honestly, from the outside it just looks like a really nice Victorian townhouse that someone’s lovingly restored. But that’s actually part of its charm, I think. It sits there on Broompark Drive like it belongs, which it does, rather than trying to scream “HOTEL” at you with flashy signage.
The thing about staying here is that you’re properly in a Glasgow neighborhood, not some sterile hotel district. I mean, you’re about a 15-minute walk to the Merchant City area, and Celtic Park is practically around the corner if you’re into football. The couple who run it – and I’m pretty sure it’s family-owned – they actually know the area and can tell you which bus to catch or where to grab decent fish and chips that won’t break the bank. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re clean and comfortable, though honestly some could use a refresh. Mine had this slightly creaky floorboard by the window that took some getting used to, but the bed was proper comfortable and the shower had good pressure, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed.
What really won me over was the breakfast situation – they do this full Scottish breakfast that’s clearly made to order, not sitting under heat lamps for hours. Plus there’s usually tablet or shortbread sitting out in the afternoon, which feels like staying at someone’s house rather than a hotel. The whole place has maybe eight or ten rooms, so it never feels crowded or impersonal. Parking‘s free on the street, though you might have to walk a bit if there’s a match on at Celtic Park. I’d probably stay here again, actually – it’s one of those places where you feel like you’re experiencing Glasgow as it actually is, not some polished tourist version of it. Just don’t expect luxury spa treatments or a 24-hour concierge, because that’s not what this is about.
Hotels near me in Glasgow offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Glasgow Cathedral, Merchant City, and authentic Scottish pubs.

Reviews of Broompark House
Overall satisfied – Usha from United Kingdom – August 10, 2025 (6/10)
Property location is very good. We stayed for three days so we didn't expect garden.
Overall, our stay in this house was good.
What could be improved: Floor board is noisy and need to change some appliances in this property. More cleaning needed.
