City Centre Studio Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to City Centre Studio on North Street, I almost missed it entirely. It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside, which honestly turned out to be part of its charm. You know how some boutique places try way too hard to be quirky? This isn’t one of them. It just quietly does its own thing without needing any official star rating to prove anything.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Glasgow at all. You’re right in the thick of things in the North West area, but on a street that doesn’t get the crazy foot traffic of the main drags. I mean, you can walk to pretty much everything – the galleries, decent pubs, proper coffee shops – but you’re not dealing with drunk crowds stumbling past your window at 2am. The building itself has this understated industrial vibe that works really well; exposed brick in some spots, clean modern lines everywhere else. My room (well, studio really) had these huge windows that let in tons of light, and the whole space felt bigger than it probably was. The kitchenette was actually functional too – not just some token mini-fridge and microwave situation.
What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. When I asked about breakfast spots, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic leaflet; he asked what I was in the mood for and sent me to this little place around the corner that served the kind of eggs Benedict that makes you want to move to a city. The whole vibe feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-designed flat than a traditional hotel experience. There’s no stuffy lobby or forced pleasantries – just good design, solid wifi, and people who actually seem to care about whether you find what you’re looking for. I stayed during a pretty busy weekend and never felt like the place was chaotic or overwhelmed, which says something about how they run things. If you’re the type who needs turndown service and a concierge in a suit, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere stylish and comfortable that feels connected to the actual city rather than some generic hotel bubble, then yeah, City Centre Studio gets it right.

Es como dormir en la calle – Javier from Spain – August 18, 2025 (1/10)
Nada. Desastroso. Necesita mucho mantenimiento, limpieza y aislamiento acústico
What could be improved: Todo mal. Wonderful – Rulka from United Kingdom – August 10, 2025 (9/10)
