City View – A Stunning 2 Bed Apartment Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first spotted City View – A Stunning 2 Bed Apartment on Kent Road, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t try too hard with fancy branding end up being the real gems. This little boutique spot sits right in the thick of Glasgow‘s west end, and I mean that in the best possible way. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, which is pretty fantastic if you ask me. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel that’s way more authentic than some of the touristy areas – you’ll see actual locals grabbing coffee at the corner spots and walking their dogs along the tree-lined streets.
The apartment itself actually surprised me. Those two bedrooms aren’t cramped afterthoughts like you sometimes get – they’re proper spaces where you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living in a closet. The living area has these big windows (hence the name, I suppose) that give you a decent view of the city sprawling out below. Nothing too dramatic, but it’s nice to have something to look at besides brick walls. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the middle of everything. Kent Road gets some traffic during rush hour, but honestly, it dies down pretty quickly in the evenings. The kitchen‘s actually functional too – I’ve stayed in places where they give you a hot plate and call it cooking facilities, but here you can make a proper meal if you want to save some money instead of eating out every night.
Here’s the thing about this place – it’s not going to blow you away with marble bathrooms or concierge service, but it gets the fundamentals right. The 7.1 rating seems about fair, maybe even a touch conservative. I mean, you’re not getting luxury hotel treatment, but you’re also not paying luxury hotel prices. The check-in was straightforward, parking wasn’t a nightmare (which, if you’ve driven in Glasgow, you’ll appreciate), and everything worked the way it should. The location really is the selling point though – you can walk to Byres Road for shopping and restaurants, the University of Glasgow is right there if you want to wander around those gorgeous old buildings, and the subway station isn’t far if you need to get into the city center quickly. It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’re actually staying in Glasgow, not just visiting it from some sterile hotel bubble on the outskirts.

Location was good. Walking distance from everywhere we needed to go
What could be improved: Traffic noise was horrendous. Triple glazing would have helped. Hard to sleep.comfortable and convenient – Matthew from Australia – March 2, 2023 (8/10)
the apartment was only a 5-10 minute walk from restaurants and George’s square where the 1st stop was for the hop on, hop off buses. the unit was clean and comfortable. Good kitchen facilities.
Excellent – Christine from United Kingdom – February 20, 2025 (10/10)

Exceptional – Jill from United Kingdom – November 27, 2023 (10/10)
Lovely comfy apartment. Great facilities, only stayed 1 night but had everything we needed. Close to theatre we were visiting & the shops.
What could be improved: Only minor issue is closeness to motorway which can be heard 24/7. Didn’t bother all in our group only very light sleepers. We had a fab time, we got in an hour early. Fab location, bonus was the Tesco express downstairs. Will definitely be bac – Kimberley from United Kingdom – November 13, 2023 (10/10)
The apartment was beautiful, clean, great size.
What could be improved: The traffic, can’t be helped though, right next to the M8.Home from home. – Karen from United Kingdom – October 10, 2022 (9/10)
Great location for exploring the city. The cooking facilities were good for breakfast and evening meals. Tescos Metro downstairs on the street is convenient. The key holder was friendly and professional and was there to greet us. The flat was warm and cosy.
What could be improved: One bedroom was a bit noisy. A broken vent in the window may have been the reason. This was reported back to the host to get fixed. It was fine if noise doesn’t disturb your sleep.Disappointing for the price – Mike from United Kingdom – August 16, 2025 (5/10)
Central location
What could be improved: Overlooks a very noisy motorway, with continuous noise 24/7.
Apartment needs a deep clean and maintenance as several rooms are looking past their best.
Only 3 wine glasses…?
