Comfortable 2BR Apartment with Free Parking Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Comfortable 2BR Apartment with Free Parking, I thought it sounded a bit, well, generic. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward names tell you exactly what you’re getting, and that’s not always a bad thing. This place sits in the South Side of Glasgow, and after spending a few days there, I actually think the name undersells it quite a bit.
The apartment is tucked away in one of those Victorian tenement buildings that make Glasgow’s southside so charming – you know, the red sandstone ones with those beautiful bay windows that catch the light just right in the afternoon. What struck me immediately was how quiet it was, considering you’re still properly in the city. I mean, you can hear the occasional bus rumbling down Victoria Road, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than anything intrusive. The free parking thing is genuinely brilliant, by the way – anyone who’s tried to find a spot around Shawlands or Strathbungo will tell you that’s worth its weight in gold. There’s a dedicated space right outside, which honestly felt like winning the lottery after years of circling blocks in other cities.
Inside, the place has this lived-in warmth that you don’t always get with short-term rentals. The two bedrooms are actually proper bedrooms (not one of those “bedroom” situations where it’s basically a curtained-off living room corner), and the kitchen has everything you’d actually need if you want to cook rather than eat out every night. I found myself making morning coffee there and just… lingering, you know? The windows face south, so you get this lovely natural light that makes even Glasgow’s grayer days feel brighter. The living area has this slightly mismatched furniture situation going on – not in a shabby way, but in that comfortable, eclectic way that feels like someone’s actual home rather than a showroom. There’s a bookshelf with actual books (including some local Glasgow authors, which was a nice touch), and the sofa is one of those deep, sink-into-it types that’s perfect after a day wandering around Pollok Park or the Burrell Collection. Speaking of which – both are basically on your doorstep, along with some genuinely excellent pubs and that brilliant little bakery on Kilmarnock Road that does the best morning rolls in the southside. The whole area has this village-y feel despite being so central, and locals actually chat with you at the bus stop instead of avoiding eye contact. It’s that kind of Glasgow friendliness that catches visitors off guard in the best possible way.

Got in so all goodNice property let down by poor management and servicing of the apartment – Jean from United Kingdom – July 31, 2025 (3/10)
Location was ideal for attending a wedding – getting train into central Glasgow would also have been easy. Old style Glasgow tenement building (purpose built as flats) so rooms are large and bright. Quiet road.
What could be improved: Property was not properly prepared: Wifi did not work, oven in kitchen did not work. No instructions for any appliances so we could not get anything on the TV to work other than BBC IPlayer. There was no hot water and we could not get it to work for approx half the stay. I was forced to wash my hair before going to a wedding using hot water from a kettle and a plastic jug in the kitchen. Insufficient crockery e.g. only 3 wine glasses and mugs in a flat advertised for 4. There was unsightly mould on the ceilings and walls of two rooms
Management were unhelpful. The only 'support' we received was a message asking us to take a photo of the oven. No help given with any of the other issues.
I summarised the difficulties after the stay. Eleven days later they have not responded.Un beau potentiel – Wilhelm from France – August 12, 2025 (4/10)
– Anonymous from Netherlands – June 1, 2025 (9/10)
