What struck me most about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that “cosy” promise without making everything feel cramped or overly precious. The room I stayed in had these lovely old windows that let in tons of natural light during the day, and honestly, the morning view over the rooftops toward the cathedral was something I didn’t expect. The décor walks this nice line between quirky and comfortable – nothing too matchy-matchy, but everything feels intentional. You can tell someone actually thought about how people use a hotel room rather than just how it photographs. The bed was properly comfortable too, which matters more than people admit when you’re doing a lot of walking around the city center.

The 7.9 rating makes perfect sense to me – this isn’t luxury accommodation, and they’re not pretending to be. But for what it is, they do it really well. Check-in was straightforward, the staff knew their stuff about getting around the city, and I never felt like I was being upsold on anything. If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere clean, characterful, and genuinely well-located without paying city center hotel prices, it’s actually a smart choice. Plus, you’re walking distance from some of Glasgow’s best pubs and restaurants – the kind of places locals actually go, not just the ones that show up in guidebooks.
