easyHotel Glasgow City Overview

Look, I’ll be straight with you about easyHotel Glasgow City – it’s not going to win any design awards, but honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. This little budget spot sits right on Hill Street in the heart of Central Glasgow, and I mean literally in the thick of everything. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Sauchiehall Street’s shopping chaos and about the same distance to the King’s Theatre if you’re into that sort of thing.

The rooms are, well, tiny. I’m talking airplane bathroom tiny, but they’re clean and the bed’s actually decent enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a brick wall all night. The whole place has this minimalist thing going on – and by minimalist, I mean there’s a bed, a small desk that doubles as your dining table, and a compact bathroom that somehow manages to fit everything you need without you having to contort yourself too much. The Wi-Fi actually works, which honestly puts it ahead of some fancier places I’ve stayed. You know what surprised me though? The soundproofing isn’t terrible. I was expecting to hear every conversation from the street below, but the double glazing does its job reasonably well – though you’ll definitely know when the weekend crowds are making their way down to the bars on Bath Street.

What I really appreciated was how straightforward everything is here. Check-in took about two minutes, the staff doesn’t pretend this is the Ritz but they’re friendly enough, and there’s no nonsense about hidden fees or complicated key card systems. The location means you can walk to Central Station in about eight minutes if you’re catching a train, and Queen Street Station isn’t much further if you’re heading north. I actually found myself using the room just to sleep and shower – which, let’s face it, is probably what you’re doing anyway when you’re exploring Glasgow. The nearby Willow Tea Rooms are worth a visit if you’re into the whole Charles Rennie Mackintosh thing, and you’re close enough to the Merchant City area that you can easily wander over for dinner without needing to plan your evening around transport. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – this is budget travel done efficiently, not luxuriously. But honestly, for the price and location, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

  • Good – Wendy from United Kingdom – August 30, 2025 (7/10)

The location was great near to the city centre rooms were very clean and comfortable

What could be improved: When I booked the reservation it said it had a lift ( i am disabled with severe back problems) but it was broken and they put us on 2nd floor up 4 flights of stairs when we questioned our room they said we'll try and get you on the 1st floor for the next day which they did then during the night there was water coming from the ceiling which we reported

  • Very nice experience.Very quiet location in hotel. No street noise or corridor conversations. – Graham from United Kingdom – August 18, 2025 (8/10)

  • Very Good – Aanuoluwa from United Kingdom – July 2, 2025 (8/10)

Great service but small room and amenities considering the cost.

  • Very Good – Kirsty from United Kingdom – July 2, 2025 (8/10)

Clean, nice staff and not too far from our event

  • Fair – Andrea from Puerto Rico – May 26, 2025 (5/10)

It’s very central and pretty close to the bus and train station. Also has a variety of restaurants close by. The reception employees were so nice at our arrival, even one of them spoke spanish, which is my primary language.

What could be improved: The rooms are too small, and the bathroom is even smaller. The matress was way too hard, almost like sleeping in a wood panel, and the pillows are way too thin. There was no trash can in the bathroom.

  • Good – Ricky from United Kingdom – May 15, 2025 (7/10)

Clean, good value for money, comfortable, good location.

What could be improved: Windows not openable, no breakfast facilities or bar area.
