Exquisite 2BR Flat near Central Train Station Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Exquisite 2BR Flat near Central Train Station on Argyle Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide behind the most unassuming facades, and this spot really grew on me during my stay in Glasgow.

The location is actually brilliant if you’re someone who values getting around easily without the hassle of taxis or figuring out bus routes. I mean, Central Station is literally a three-minute walk away – I timed it because I’m neurotic like that. You can hear the occasional rumble of trains, but honestly, it’s more comforting than annoying, sort of like urban white noise. The flat itself sits right in the heart of things on Argyle Street, which means you’re surrounded by those classic Glasgow sandstone buildings and there’s always something happening nearby. I found myself grabbing coffee from the little café downstairs most mornings (the barista, Sarah, makes a mean flat white if you’re wondering).

What really won me over was how the space actually feels like someone’s home rather than a sterile hotel room. The two bedrooms are properly sized – not those cramped afterthoughts you sometimes get in city center accommodations. The living area has this lived-in comfort with a sofa that’s actually good for sprawling out after walking around the city all day. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need if you want to cook (though with all the restaurants within walking distance, I barely used it except for morning coffee). The WiFi is solid, which matters when you’re trying to figure out train times or restaurant reservations. One tiny thing – the shower pressure could be better, but honestly, that’s pretty typical for older Glasgow buildings, and it’s not like it ruins the experience or anything.

Here’s the thing that struck me most: this place gets Glasgow right. You’re close enough to walk to Buchanan Street for shopping, the Merchant City for nightlife, and even the cathedral if you’re feeling touristy. But you’re also in a proper residential area where actual Glaswegians live and work. I loved hearing the morning bustle of people heading to work, and the evening sounds of folks coming home. The 7.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be fancy, but it delivers on what matters: space, location, and that feeling like you’re actually experiencing the city rather than just visiting it. Plus, having two bedrooms means you can spread out or travel with friends without driving each other crazy. For the price point and the convenience factor, especially if you’re planning to explore beyond Glasgow by train, this flat really works.

To book hotel in Glasgow during the famous Edinburgh Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts music lovers and culture enthusiasts from around the world.

Reviews of Exquisite 2BR Flat near Central Train Station

  • Good location, terrible communication – Karis from United Kingdom – October 9, 2024 (8/10)

Great location in the town center, flat had everything you needed for a self catering stay and a tesco right across the road. Was pretty quiet for being on one of the main streets in glasgow. Beds were comfortable and clean, bathroom was clean and towels provided.

What could be improved: Furniture was very dusty and the letting agent wasn't great. You are asked to contact the agent through whatsapp but get no reply. Had to Google and phone the main office to get into the flat as the agent didn't answer the whatsapp calls on our arrival. The same agent was the emergency contact for out of hours, we had a problem with the livingroom heater, the electrics in the plug were faulty and the plug started melting causing a burning smell, when we pulled it out to prevent a fire one of the prongs had melted that much it stuck in the socket. Tried to contact the agent as an emergency, no answer at all from them either that night or the next day, we checked out with the prong still melted into the socket. Pretty poor show from them if I'm honest. Considering what you pay for a night along with a decent deposit I expect better if I'm honest.

  • Good – Lucy from United Kingdom – March 26, 2023 (7/10)

Great location, very comfortable, fairly clean, made you feel at home and very chill

What could be improved: The bathroom light didn’t work properly, the windowsills in the bedrooms were dirty and a few hairs lying on the sofa and beds

  • Good location, early checkout. – Myles from United Kingdom – September 6, 2025 (7/10)

    Accomodation was fine.
    Great location.

What could be improved: Disappointed that host could not bend at all on check in time.
Wouldn't move from 3pm till 2pm. We had an event to attend at 2.30pm. This meant we couldn't check in or leave our bags before. Considering check out is 10am, fail to see why this couldn't be accommodated.
Also £250 deposit taken off card up front ( paid not just secured) a bit steep. Waiting a week for refund too long.

  • Overall the stay was good – D from United Kingdom – August 3, 2025 (8/10)

    Location and facilities

  • We enjoyed our stay at this place. – Robyn from New Zealand – July 5, 2025 (8/10)

The location near the train station was great as we were catching the train after our stay in Glasgow. Also handy to restaurants and central city. Lovely spacious apartment for a 2 couples.

What could be improved: Both beds were saggy and not particularly comfortable. New beds needed here. It had full kitchen facilities but no tea towels to dry dishes. Not quite enough equipment if you wanted to cook a meal. The curtains weren't black out and the offices opposite the bedrooms left their lights on all night which was annoying.

  • Very nice apartment for a short stay with friends. – Katrina from United Kingdom – April 7, 2025 (8/10)

Really well positioned property, easy to access and quiet for a city centre. Make sure to pack toilet roll as you only get one and there are no trays for the oven. The shower is so lush and powerful, the beds extremely comfy, giant TV and plenty of sockets.

  • Great location. Quiet for the centre. Big flat. – Keith from United Kingdom – March 31, 2025 (8/10)

Location, space, two bedrooms, plenty tea and coffee

What could be improved: Just lacked some finishing touches in places

  • Good – Kateřina from Czech Republic – April 2, 2024 (7/10)

The living room was very comfortable. All the equipment of the apartment was sufficient and fully functional. The advantage was the shop located directly in the opposite building. Communication with the staff was pleasant and they responded quickly to all messages.

What could be improved: The front door to the apartment could not be locked, we could only closed it. The cleaning could have been better, but it was sufficient for us.

  • Very Good – Hazel from United Kingdom – March 28, 2024 (8/10)

    Location was really good…

What could be improved: Lots of dead flies on the living room window sill

  • Suited our purpose – Kim from United Kingdom – September 2, 2023 (7/10)

    Clean and spacious
    TV

    What could be improved: Location
    Shower was a bit manky
Process for entry was a bit confusing
