Fantastic City Centre Flat Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Fantastic City Centre Flat, I rolled my eyes a bit. I mean, come on, right? But you know what? Sometimes places actually live up to their bold claims, and this little gem in the heart of Glasgow is one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.
The thing about this place is that it sits right in that sweet spot where you’re genuinely in the thick of things without the tourist trap nonsense. I’m talking about being able to walk to Merchant City in literally three minutes – and I mean a proper leisurely stroll, not some rushed march. The building itself has this lovely old Glasgow character (you know how these Victorian tenements can be), but inside it’s been done up with actually good taste. None of that cheap IKEA-catalog-gone-wrong vibe you sometimes get with boutique places. The rooms have proper high ceilings that make you feel less cramped than most city center spots, and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a mattress all night.
What really got me was the attention to little details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The kitchen – and this is a proper kitchen, not some sad corner with a kettle – has everything you need if you want to grab some bits from the Tesco Express around the corner and make yourself a decent breakfast. The shower pressure is excellent (thank god, because nothing ruins a city break like a pathetic dribble of lukewarm water), and the whole place stays surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the center of things. I was there during a weekend in autumn, and even with all the usual Glasgow nightlife happening nearby, I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open. The neighborhood gets lively but not obnoxious, if that makes sense – more friendly chatter from people heading home than proper rowdiness. Plus, being this central means you can walk to Queen Street Station in about eight minutes, which is brilliant if you’re planning day trips out to the Highlands or just need to catch a train elsewhere. It’s one of those places where the 7.3 rating actually feels spot-on – not trying to be something it’s not, just delivering exactly what a savvy traveler wants from a Glasgow base.

Reviews of Fantastic City Centre Flat
Good but not fantastic – Gill from United Kingdom – October 7, 2024 (7/10)
Was a great space and very central in Glasgow
What could be improved: There was weird mould/staining on the wall, bath edge was stained and dirty and wallpaper peeling off.
Curtains in bedroom were way too short and with flats opposite we felt exposed. Front room curtains were hanging off in places.Pleasant – Emin from Taiwan – October 5, 2023 (6/10)
good location
What could be improved: bad service when check inExceptional – Margaret from United Kingdom – February 16, 2025 (10/10)
The hostel was very accommodating and lovely flat

The main thing was how lovely the host was he was attentive and quick answering, checking in to see how we were enjoying it and let us check out later, would rate higher if I could overall lovely stay

warm and comfortable
What could be improved: I arranged a late arrival 10:30pm and was told to collect the keys from a lockbox on the outside of the building. unfortunately the code they gave me was incorrect and I was unable gain access to the keys and was stranded outside in the cold. I called the contact number and eventually gained access to the property 30-40 minutes later once they provided the correct code.Glasgow – Colin from United Kingdom – November 14, 2023 (3/10)

What could be improved: Key collection info.wrong.No heating or hot water on arrival.Sofa a disgrace.Sink plug broken.Dirty plates and cutlery.Exceptional – Birgit from Germany – September 28, 2023 (10/10)
War alles da was man braucht.
What could be improved: Die Fenster allgemein in diesem Block sollten mal geputzt werden.
Bad – Francisca from Spain – April 3, 2024 (1/10)
What could be improved: No cojan nunca este apartamento! He pedido a booking reembolso del importe.
Quelques photos , nous en avons d autre – Gaetan from France – September 17, 2023 (1/10)
Rien
