After walking around Glasgow all day, especially if you’ve been hiking up to the cathedral or wandering through the West End, that hot shower hits different.

What really sold me on the place was how it sits right in the heart of everything without the chaos you’d expect. You’re close enough to hear the city’s pulse – the occasional rumble of buses on the main roads, people heading out for the night – but it’s not like you’re trying to sleep above a pub on Sauchiehall Street. The location means you can actually walk to most of the good stuff: the Merchant City for dinner, George Square when there’s something happening, or even down to the river if you fancy a stroll. I found myself coming back during the day sometimes just to recharge, which never happens when I’m staying somewhere that feels more like a pit stop than a base. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no pretentious lobby experience, just practical and friendly. Sometimes you don’t need marble floors and a concierge; you just need a place that gets the basics absolutely right and makes you feel like you can actually relax.

  Owner was friendly and allowed me an early check in. Flat was modern, with digital tv and comfortable furnishings. I would recommend as a Base if you are in Glasgow for an extended periods. The owner left toiletries which was nice
