You know what caught me off guard about (G1) Elegant 2 bed Blythswood Apartment? It’s tucked right there on Saint Vincent Street, and I mean literally in the thick of everything, but somehow you don’t get that chaotic city buzz once you’re inside. I’ve stayed in plenty of Glasgow spots over the years, and this one’s honestly different – it’s got this boutique vibe without trying too hard, if that makes sense.

The thing is, when you’re walking up Saint Vincent Street, you’re basically in the heart of the business district, but you’re also just minutes from all the good stuff in Glasgow. I’m talking about proper walking distance to the Merchant City area, and honestly, you can practically roll out of bed and be at some of the best restaurants and pubs the city has to offer. The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there (or could live there) – not that sterile hotel cookie-cutter thing you usually get. The two bedrooms are properly sized, and I mean you can actually unpack your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. The living area has this nice natural light during the day, which is more important than you’d think when you’re dealing with Glasgow’s, let’s say, moody weather.

What really sold me though was the practical stuff – and this is coming from someone who’s learned the hard way about city center stays. The street noise isn’t crazy, even though you’re right in the middle of everything. I mean, it’s still a city, so you’ll hear some traffic, but it’s not like you’re trying to sleep next to a construction site. The whole Blythswood area has this sort of refined energy during the day, then settles down nicely in the evenings. Plus, if you’re someone who actually wants to explore beyond the tourist bubble, you’re positioned perfectly here. Central Station is close enough that you don’t need to plan your life around getting there, and honestly, most of Glasgow’s character is within walking distance. The rating speaks for itself – 9 out of 10 is pretty solid – but what I appreciated was that it earned that score on the details, not just the location. It’s the kind of place where everything just works without you having to think about it, which, let’s be real, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to enjoy a city break.

    The property location was great. It is in the city center, so everything can be reached on foot. Arriving from the airport is also easy as there is a bus driving to the location (just around the corner). The host's response was immediate. We had some minor issues with the bathroom, and everything was sorted out. For me, it is very important to have such support from host.

    What could be improved: Just a small remark about the blinds. They do not block the sun, so you have to get up very early. I am not an early riser so this is something that I did not prefer.

    Clean, spacious, and has everything you need (no really, there was 5 different kinds of shower gels available). Kitchen is well-equipped with cutlery, cooking stuff, and even tea/sugar/salt.
    Just a 10min walk from the center.
    The host was amazing and kept checking up so us during our stay.

    Side note: the coffee machine are capsules are exquisite, one of the best i tried😍

    What could be improved: A bit noisy since the building is old, but you’ll survive.
    No AC, but the host did offer to provide fans.

    This property is very beautiful and luxurious. Everything looks and feels brand new and the space is very airy and fresh. It matches the photographs and description perfectly – it’s probably even better in person! The host was very responsive and helpful, arranging an early check in and even allowing us to extend our stay by a few nights. The location was very central in the City Centre and only 10/15 minutes walk into the West End. The building itself feels safe and secure.

    What could be improved: There was only one issue which was noise. This is a traditional building with old windows, and unfortunately cars were racing up and down the street from early evening until around 2am. It was generally very loud sports cars with very loud engines, and continuous throughout our full stay.
