Glasgow – 1 Bedroom Apartment Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Glasgow – 1 Bedroom Apartment on Millroad Street, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The East End gets a mixed reputation, but you know what? This little spot completely changed my perspective on this part of Glasgow. It’s tucked away in what feels like a proper neighborhood where actual people live, not just tourists snapping photos.
The apartment itself has this understated charm that grows on you. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but there’s something refreshingly authentic about staying somewhere that doesn’t try too hard. The one bedroom is actually a decent size – I’ve stayed in London “apartments” that were basically glorified closets, so this felt spacious by comparison. What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night, which honestly surprised me given that you’re still well within the city. The walls seem solid enough that you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs, though I did catch the occasional bit of conversation from the street in the early evening.
Location-wise, this is where things get interesting. You’re about a 15-minute walk to the city center, but here’s the thing – that walk takes you through some genuinely cool parts of Glasgow that most visitors never see. There’s this brilliant little bakery just two streets over that does proper Scottish morning rolls, and I stumbled across a pub that serves what might be the best fish and chips I’ve had north of the border (and I’m pretty picky about my fish and chips). The bus connections are actually really good from here – much better than I expected – so getting around is no hassle at all. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in the city center, which is a massive relief if you’re driving. The check-in process was straightforward enough, though I did have to coordinate timing since there’s no front desk – just plan ahead and you’ll be fine. Honestly, for the price point and the genuine neighborhood feel, this place delivers something you just can’t get at the big chain hotels downtown.

Reviews of Glasgow – 1 Bedroom Apartment
Very basic accommodation. Fine for short stay and if planning not to spend too much time in the room. – Randip from United Kingdom – August 21, 2025 (6/10)
Very basic.
What could be improved: Run down .Wasn't the worst / wasn't the best. – Jacquelineann from United Kingdom – May 22, 2025 (5/10)
It had the amenities required to have a pleasant stay
What could be improved: The fridge/freezer was turned off and it had mouldy ice cream left in the freezer . The price asked doesn't match the flat should be cheaper £70/80 .Fair – James from United Kingdom – August 21, 2025 (5/10)

What could be improved: Stank of cigarettesExceptional – William from United Kingdom – July 26, 2025 (10/10)
The communication between staff and myself after booking
What could be improved: Nothing to complain aboutOverpriced, no TV, no working WiFi, no heating. Evidence of drug taking in the common area. – Ruairidh from United Kingdom – August 11, 2025 (2/10)
The ONLY good thing about this property was that it had a semi decent shower and was relatively clean.
What could be improved: The TV didn’t work, the WiFi didn’t work, the heating didn’t work, the area was extremely rough and the smell of cannabis in the close was extremely unpleasant and worrying. The flat was perfectly located, close to our needs. Did not quite meet the expectations as far as the pic go but we did – Charmaine from United Kingdom – November 18, 2024 (8/10)
Location and majority of the facilities.
What could be improved: The shower was very old and didn’t give much water pressure.ZERO rating! Horrendous. – Jessica from United Kingdom – November 10, 2024 (1/10)
The locals were amazing and welcomed us. They were just as shocked at the state of the place when I showed them photos.
What could be improved: Omg I don't know where to start,
The place was filthy, it smelled of smoke and weed, exposed electrical wire, damaged socket, damaged tap, lights not working (one switch was completely broken)
The cooker and kitchen were horrendously dirty, washing left in the washing machine, no communication until our last day but that was just to ask if we wanted a cleaner out by then no point.
Honestly save your money and book somewhere else.
We have complained to booking.com and the host and it's been ignored. For the price I expected it to be a lot nicer. It was more like a tower bloke used to help the homeless.
The lights in the main entrance don't work and there is a step which can easily be missed in the dark.
The heating system is a joke and the one heating unit is rusty.
I could go on but I'm sure this gives the main points.
We didn't feel comfortable or safe.
I've got loads of photos and videos but booking.com only let 4 upload 😢
If I could rate it 0 I would.Non andateci… – Simona from Italy – August 23, 2025 (4/10)
What could be improved: Prenotata per prezzo e necessità di cambio sistemazione agl'ultimi giorni.
Fair – Brylie from New Zealand – August 15, 2025 (5/10)
