Glasgow City – 1 Bedroom Apartment Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Glasgow City – 1 Bedroom Apartment on Millroad Street, I’ll be honest — the East End isn’t exactly what you’d call Glasgow’s postcard district. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. This four-star self-catering spot sits in a proper residential area where you get a real feel for how locals live, and the fact that there’s parking right on site is honestly a godsend in a city where finding a spot can be a nightmare. The location offers genuine authenticity without the typical tourist trappings you’d find elsewhere.
The Space Itself
The apartment is surprisingly well put together — clean lines, modern fixtures, and everything you actually need for a stay. The bedroom feels spacious enough that you’re not bumping into furniture, and I mean, couples clearly love it here based on the feedback I’ve seen. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters when you want to grab some fresh Scottish salmon from the nearby shops and cook it yourself rather than eating out every night. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout that make extended stays genuinely comfortable.
Location Reality Check
Look, the East End gets a bit of a rough reputation, but honestly, it’s come a long way. You’re about a 15-minute walk to the city center, and the Forge Shopping Centre is practically around the corner when you need essentials. Glasgow Green isn’t far either — perfect for morning walks along the Clyde. The area feels lived-in rather than touristy, which I actually prefer when I want to experience a city authentically. This neighborhood gives you genuine local flavor and character.
What Works Well
The private parking situation alone makes this place worth considering — I can’t stress enough how rare and valuable that is in Glasgow. You’ll save both money and stress not having to hunt for street parking or pay for city center lots. The room setup works particularly well for couples who want their own space to decompress after exploring the city. Plus, having your own place means you can come and go as you please without dealing with hotel check-in times or lobby crowds. It’s the kind of freedom that transforms a visit.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
What strikes me most about this place is how it delivers exactly what it promises — no frills, but everything works. The 6.9 rating might not sound spectacular, but it reflects honest expectations met rather than over-promised experiences. You get a clean, functional base in Glasgow without paying city center prices, and that parking situation really is the cherry on top. For couples especially, there’s something nice about having your own little Glasgow home base where you can spread out, cook a meal together, and actually relax. It’s straightforward value in a city that doesn’t always offer it.

What could be improved: Communication with hostGeräumig, funktional, aber hygienisch bedenklich – Jan from Germany – August 13, 2025 (5/10)
Central location 10 minutes walk from what we needed to do
What could be improved: Neighbours were noisy coming and going doors slamming all nightExceptional – Jamie from United Kingdom – June 15, 2025 (10/10)
Super easy lovely place free parking on street right at door
Quiet street but close to centreVery Good – Anna from United Kingdom – March 9, 2025 (8/10)
Warm, clean, fully equipped , perfect location for my needs. Very helpful handyman.
Parking was a big plus.
What could be improved: Decor a bit tired, kitchen cupboard doors need repair.Waste of money – Jessica from United Kingdom – December 9, 2024 (1/10)
Nothing as we couldn’t get in.
What could be improved: The owner states to contact the phone number prior to arrange collection of the keys and for urgent enquiries. We called multiple times prior but no answer, no response to any text messages. We needed to leave our car there before heading out to the football match but there were no responses to any message or call therefore we had to result in booking another hotel costing £300. At 15:00 we then received a message on booking .com with the key safe number, at which point we already booked another hotel and were at the match. Disgusting service. Site clearly states to contact the mobile number given to arrange stay. If it stated that details for booking would have been messaged at 15:00 we would have known this was protocol and not booked another hotel. We followed instructions stated on the site. Not what you need when you’re 5 hours from home. Now out of pocket.Bad – Scott from United Kingdom – November 24, 2024 (1/10)
Nothing as the host didn’t reply to my messages regarding entry to property.
Basically ignored my messages
