The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Glasgow at all. Being near Glasgow Green means you’re close to the city’s oldest park, which locals will tell you is where the real Glasgow starts to show itself. You can walk to the Merchant City area without breaking a sweat, and there’s something nice about being able to step outside and actually breathe a bit instead of being stuck right in the thick of the city center chaos. The rooms themselves have this clean, uncluttered feel – sort of Scandinavian-inspired but not in that cold, sterile way that some modern places go for. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are properly sized, not those tiny afterthoughts you sometimes get squeezed into older Glasgow buildings.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve thought about the practical stuff. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, the heating responds when you adjust it, and – this might sound small but it matters – the curtains actually block out light when you want to sleep in. The staff knows the area well too, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out the best way to get somewhere or where to grab a proper breakfast that won’t cost you a fortune. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with marble lobbies or fancy spa treatments, but that’s not really the point. This is the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and you end up sleeping better and feeling more settled than you expected. If you’re looking for somewhere reliable in Glasgow that won’t eat up half your travel budget but still feels like you’re treating yourself decently, this is definitely worth considering.

  Great location for getting around Glasgow. Excellent facilities made for a very comfortable stay. 3 good sized double bedrooms. Tea, coffee and sugar was a nice touch. We usually stay in a Premier Inn when visiting the city but this property is where we'll be staying in the future. A home from home!
