The heating works properly too, which – trust me – matters more than you think it will when you’re in Glasgow during the cooler months.

The location grows on you, actually. At first glance you might think it’s a bit out of the way, but after a day or two you realize you’re perfectly positioned to experience the city like someone who actually lives here rather than just ticking off tourist boxes. I found myself walking different routes each morning, discovering those brilliant Victorian terraces and stumbling across proper local pubs where the barman remembers your order. The 8.0 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed a night or two – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does offer is genuine and well-maintained. You’ll sleep well here, the Wi-Fi actually works when you need it, and honestly, isn’t that what matters most when you’re using a hotel as your base for exploring? Plus the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – none of that overly complicated key card business or confusing elevator systems that seem designed to frustrate tired travelers.

  The apartment is located in very nice and quiet area close to the wonderful park. You can find some shops, restaurants and pubs near the flat. An apartment is fully equipped, host is responsive in a timely manner and all instructions regarding the check-in or check-out are clear.

  The apartment was bright and spacious. It had only one flight of stairs, which is a bonus when lugging heavy cases. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. We felt very much at home there.
