When I asked about getting to the Merchant City district, the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward a tourist map; he gave me the kind of route only someone who lives here would suggest, complete with a heads-up about which streets get congested during rush hour.

The rooms themselves are honestly pretty solid for what you’re paying. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly (and trust me, I’ve stayed in places where that’s not a given). The beds are comfortable enough that I wasn’t tossing around all night, and the heating actually responded when I adjusted it – you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed, even on the weekend I was there. You get that sense that they’ve figured out the little things that matter, like decent water pressure and blackout curtains that actually block the light. The breakfast was better than expected too – not just the usual continental spread, but some proper Scottish options that felt authentic rather than performative. Sometimes you can tell when a place is going through the motions versus when they’re actually trying to give you a good experience, and this definitely felt like the latter. With an 8.5 rating, I can see why people keep coming back here. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some generic hotel that could be anywhere in the world.

  This was an excellent house for a five person adult family to stay and go to a football match at Hampden. It was comfy, clean with great facilities and was very near the football ground and also easily enough accessible to town. Having an extra toilet was fab and the kitchen was very well equipped. Also, the communication with the owners was fab.

  It's a nice cozy house located not far from Glasgow city center and one hour drive from Edinburgh. It has beds for five persons grouped in three bedrooms so it is ok for a group of 5 (one of it a couple – double bed). With a bigger group, someone has to use sofas on the ground floor which are not so comfortable as beds. The kitchen is ok for the five-person group. Despite that kitchen is well equipped.
  Contact with hosts is very good. We reported an issue with the bed and they were ready to solve our problem in a couple of hours.
