Glasgow Property near city centre Overview

Look, I’ll be honest with you – the Glasgow Property near city centre is one of those places that’s… well, it’s complicated. When I first walked up Braid Street looking for it, I actually passed by twice because it doesn’t exactly scream “hotel” from the outside. It’s tucked into this residential stretch in the North West area, and you know what? That’s sort of the point.

This isn’t your typical boutique experience, I mean, they don’t even bother with official star ratings, which should tell you something right off the bat. The whole place has this almost deliberately rough-around-the-edges vibe – think converted townhouse that someone decided to turn into accommodation without overthinking it. My room was… basic. Really basic. The kind of place where you’re grateful if the shower has decent water pressure (mine did, thankfully) and the heating actually works. The décor is what I’d generously call “minimalist” – white walls, basic furniture, nothing fancy. But here’s the thing – sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re just looking for a place to crash after exploring Glasgow properly.

What I actually liked about staying here was the location, honestly. You’re close enough to walk into the city centre – maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll – but you’re in this quieter residential pocket where you can actually get some sleep. The Cowcaddens area isn’t exactly touristy, which means you’ll see how regular Glaswegians actually live. There’s a decent chippy around the corner (locals will know the one I mean), and you’re not far from the canal if you fancy a morning walk. Parking is street parking, so good luck with that – but that’s Glasgow for you. The staff, when I managed to catch them, were perfectly fine. No frills check-in, here’s your key, off you go. Don’t expect concierge service or anything like that. Actually, don’t expect much service at all – this is very much a “you’re on your own” kind of place. The Wi-Fi worked, which honestly surprised me given everything else, and the neighborhood is safe enough, though it gets pretty quiet after dark. Would I stay here again? Maybe, if I needed something super cheap and central-ish, and I wasn’t fussed about amenities. But if you’re looking for any kind of luxury or even basic hotel comforts, keep looking. This is bare-bones accommodation for people who just need four walls and a bed in Glasgow – nothing more, nothing less.

To book a hotel in Glasgow during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this vibrant Scottish city draws visitors eager to experience its Victorian heritage and modern artistic scene.

Reviews of Glasgow Property near city centre

  • Never stay here – Angela from New Zealand – July 1, 2025 (1/10)

    I'm afraid to say nothing

What could be improved: We stayed here for 1 night with 3 children.  It is NOT recommended. The place is dirty and unfit to stay in.   It shouldn't even be allowed on booking.com.   (I have made them aware).  Cracks, mould, dirt, everywhere.  We felt like we were squatters in an abandoned flat.

  • Avoid!!!!!!!! – Gary from United Kingdom – June 30, 2025 (1/10)

    Absolutely nothing good to say

What could be improved: Where do I start!! For starters I had to pay an extra £20 on top of the 299 I paid just to check in before 6pm, once we arrived it was in clear that it was in a housing estate, once we got into the property it was mouldy, smelled bad and was generally unclean, no effort had been put into even making it look even half decent, the woman stormed out leaving us with no key to even lock the door to the flat, we ended up not staying as it was not fit for staying in and it wasn't secure, avoid this place, obviously it's not been vetted to make sure it's up to a decent standard by booking.com

  • Disgrace – Ashley from Australia – June 28, 2025 (1/10)

What could be improved: Was the worst place I have stayed at
Dirty it smells towels were like bath mats
Can’t believe you recommended such a dirty property
Booked for 2 nights stay for 1
If you had any decent morals you would dive me the price for one night
I sent a text to owner telling here how disgusting it was but no reply
