You’re literally steps away from Central Station – I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and catch your train to Edinburgh or the Highlands, which is pretty brilliant if you’re doing day trips. The buzz from Argyle Street and the Merchant City is right there, but somehow the rooms stay surprisingly quiet. I was on the fourth floor and barely heard any street noise, even with Glasgow‘s notorious Friday night energy happening below. The soundproofing is actually decent, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep off a long day of exploring or recovering from sampling too much whisky on Sauchiehall Street.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from Hampton – clean, functional, with those signature crisp white linens – but there are thoughtful touches that show someone cared about the guest experience. Decent shower pressure (always my litmus test), plenty of USB ports, and windows that actually open if you want some fresh Scottish air. The breakfast is solid too – not fancy, but they do a proper Scottish option alongside the usual continental spread, and the coffee doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since dawn. Honestly, for a 3-star spot with an 8.4 rating, they’re delivering exactly what they promise without trying to be something they’re not. If you’re looking for a reliable base to explore the city without breaking the bank or dealing with the stuffiness of some of the older Glasgow hotels, this Hampton location gets the job done really well.
