Home of Joy – 3 bedroom home with private garden Overview

First Impressions

The Home of Joy – 3 bedroom home with private garden sits on a quiet residential street in Hyndland, and honestly, you’d walk right past it thinking it’s just another Glasgow townhouse. That’s actually part of its charm — it feels like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of being welcomed into someone’s actual home, complete with thoughtful touches and that lived-in comfort you can’t fake.

Location & Neighborhood

Hyndland is one of those Glasgow neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often miss, and that works in your favor here. You’re about a 10-minute walk to Byres Road with all its cafes and shops, but the street itself is wonderfully peaceful. I mean, couples rate this place a perfect 10 for location, and after spending time here, I get why — you’ve got easy access to the West End’s buzz without the noise. The parking situation is brilliant too, which anyone who’s driven in Glasgow will tell you is no small thing.

The Space

This four-star property gives you proper breathing room — three bedrooms spread across what feels like a generous family home. The private garden is where this place really shines though; it’s not huge, but it’s perfectly maintained and gives you that rare outdoor space you don’t usually get in city accommodations. The whole setup works whether you’re a family needing space to spread out or a group of friends who actually want to hang out together rather than being cramped into hotel rooms.

Living Like a Local

What struck me most was how the place encourages you to actually live rather than just sleep somewhere. There’s a proper kitchen (well-equipped, not just for show), and you’ll find yourself making morning coffee and planning your day around the dining table like you would at home. The owners have clearly thought about what people actually need — good wifi, plenty of outlets, and those little conveniences that make the difference between a good stay and a great one. It’s these thoughtful details that truly elevate the experience.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.2 rating tells the story, but what really matters is how this place makes you feel settled rather than just accommodated. You know what I noticed? Guests tend to stay in more than they planned, using that garden for evening drinks or lazy morning coffee. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your next Glasgow trip before you’ve even left, and couples especially seem to love having their own little retreat in the city. The combination of space, location, and that genuine homey feeling is pretty hard to beat in this part of town.

Glasgow hotels keep guests near the Hydro arena, Riverside Museum trams, and artisan coffee lanes.

Reviews of Home of Joy – 3 bedroom home with private garden

  • A gorgeous west end property in a great location with loads of room – Rosy from United Kingdom – March 4, 2025 (8/10)

The accommodation was beautiful and the host was helpful when setting up the property ahead of our arrival.

  • Lovely stay for Cottiers wedding – Laura from United Kingdom – February 17, 2025 (9/10)

Lovely spacious flat in the heart of the west end.
My partner and I got married at Cottiers and this was the perfect location to stay and get ready on the day. It was big enough for 5 adults and a dog and was nicely decorated.

What could be improved: The communication could be improved to check in and some basic instructions to access the WiFi and work the aga/other applications in the house.

  • Lovely period house in a central position in Partick – Andrew from United Kingdom – November 2, 2024 (10/10)

Really spacious period property. Great amenities and pristine

What could be improved: Internet did come and go. But to be honest we were not there to sit on phones. So didn’t spoil our experience

  • Good – Lou from United Kingdom – September 29, 2024 (7/10)

  • Great location and hosts, just needs some small refinements to make it amazing. – Kimberley from United Kingdom – November 23, 2023 (7/10)

The accommodation was very spacious and in a great location. The host was available to talk through everything in the home and for any questions we had at any time.

What could be improved: There were three large bedrooms and so set up for 6 adults sleeping, however there were only 4 dinning chairs in the kitchen. There were towels provided, but did not seem to be spares or any spare bedding. We did not need these and would have contacted the host if we did need them but it would have been nice to be there. It was very nice, but did not seem 100% set up for rental.
