The building itself sits quietly among the red sandstone tenements that make this part of the city so charming, and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t bother with star ratings or trying to fit into neat hotel categories. The owners have clearly put thought into every corner – I mean, you’ll find books scattered around that people have actually read (not just hotel decor), artwork that feels personal rather than corporate, and furniture that’s comfortable enough you’d want it in your own living room. The rooms have this lived-in elegance that’s hard to find elsewhere; mine had a vintage writing desk by the window where I could watch the neighborhood wake up with proper coffee (they take their coffee seriously here, which any Glaswegian will tell you is essential).

What really sets this place apart is how it connects you to the real Glasgow – you’re a quick walk to Queen’s Park for morning runs, close enough to the city center that you don’t need to plan your day around transport, but far enough south that you get to experience how locals actually live. The Hampden area has this brilliant mix of old-school Glasgow charm and newer energy, especially around match days when the football crowds create this incredible atmosphere. I’ve stayed here during both busy periods and quieter weekends, and the vibe shifts beautifully with the neighborhood rhythm. The staff (and I use that term loosely because they feel more like knowledgeable hosts) know their patch incredibly well – they’ll point you toward the best curry house on Victoria Road or tell you which pub has live music on Tuesday nights, the kind of insider knowledge you can’t Google. Sure, if you’re looking for a gym, concierge service, or room service menu, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Glasgow rather than just visiting it, and you appreciate spaces with personality over polish, then honestly, you’ll understand why this place has such a devoted following among people who’ve discovered it.

  Absolutely everything. When you walk in at first it feels like you’ve got into a very old looking house but a turn to the right where the stay is changes everything. Neat, tidy, cozy, most food making devices that you could use for a short stay are kept at your beck and call! Air fryer, cooker, toaster. Owner even left some chocolates for us. I usually leave properties looking forward to my next move but this one was hard to leave. It felt like Home and away from home. Absolutely beautiful place. Don’t think twice just pay enjoy your time.
  
  What could be improved: The owner could be more accessible. He doesn’t like being contacted via phone and as a result we stayed for almost 20-25 mins outside property on check in day. I was out of data and couldn’t log in booking.com.

  Perfect location. We attended a concert at Hampden Park, and the crowds trying to get home were enormous. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re going to the stadium.
