You’re close enough to Glasgow‘s city center that you can easily walk to the main shopping areas and most of the decent restaurants, but far enough away that you’re not listening to drunk folks singing at 2 AM every night (though, let’s be honest, that’s part of Glasgow’s charm sometimes). The building itself has this industrial-meets-boutique vibe that actually works – exposed brick in some areas, but not in that try-hard way that makes you roll your eyes. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for a city hotel, and I appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with quirky design elements that look cool in photos but are annoying to live with for a few days.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to know the city properly – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where locals actually go for a proper breakfast or which pubs have the best atmosphere without being complete tourist traps.
