Huntly House – A Residence Like No Other Overview

You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Huntly House – A Residence Like No Other. The name sounds pretty grand, honestly, but this is actually a solid 3-star spot that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – which I really appreciated. Sometimes these places with the fancy names end up being all style and no substance, but this one struck a nice balance.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this residential feel without sacrificing the hotel amenities you actually need. I mean, the lobby doesn’t scream “hotel” at you the moment you walk in – it’s more like stepping into someone’s well-appointed home, if that someone happened to have really good taste and a decent budget. The staff seemed to get this vibe too; check-in felt more like being welcomed by a friend than processed through a system. My room had this comfortable, lived-in quality that made me want to actually hang out there instead of just crash for the night, which is saying something for a 3-star property.

The 7.8 rating makes total sense to me after staying there – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it delivers on what it promises. The little details matter here: decent water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this might sound small but it’s huge – outlets placed where you can actually use them while lying in bed. I’ve stayed at supposedly fancier places that couldn’t nail these basics. The common areas have this nice mix of people too, not just business travelers but families and couples who seem to have discovered this place and keep coming back. You can tell because the staff knows their names and asks about their kids or whatever. That kind of familiarity usually means a place is doing something right, you know? Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with over-the-top amenities or jaw-dropping views, but sometimes what you want is just a really comfortable, well-run place where you can recharge without any drama or surprises – and honestly, that’s exactly what you get here.

The location, the atmosphere / decor with beautiful view of the garden. Shutters to make it even more cosy in the evening. Very well equipped apartment. Lovely and comfortable and it was warm when we arrived (heating was on for our arrival) with milk in the fridge for a nice cuppa whilst we settled in. Throughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend..

Excellent location and lots of classy finishes around the flat. Host made it very easy to arrange entry and was flexible as we arrived slightly earlier than originally planned.

  • Guy from United Kingdom (8/10)

Andy could not have been more welcoming or helpful, particularly as we arrived an hour later than planned and it had to be a different keyholder. Communication with keyholder team was very good.

  • Margaret from United Kingdom (8/10)

    Location great

  • Laura from United Kingdom (8/10)

Absolutely lovely apartment, very helpful. Highly recommend

  • Matthew from United Kingdom (1/10)

The location is good and handy for local attractions in Glasgow's West End

  • Andrew from United Kingdom (8/10)

Two minutes from Byers Road. The style & attention to detail in the apartment were of the highest order, the broader building was more 'shabby-chic'. The bedroom was snug but well kitted-out but the living room was spacious and cleverly arranged.
