I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to JOIVY Bright Flat Overlooking The Clyde on Canting Way, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The area around the South Side has been changing so much lately, and you know how these riverside developments can be hit or miss. But stepping into this place, I actually got why it earned that 8.6 rating.
The flat really does live up to that “bright” promise in its name. Those windows facing the Clyde aren’t just for show – you get this lovely natural light streaming in throughout the day, and honestly, watching the river from inside with a morning coffee became part of my routine. The view changes completely depending on the weather too, which sounds cheesy but it’s true. On clear days you can see right across to the other bank, and when it’s moody and overcast (which, let’s face it, happens in Glasgow), there’s something quite atmospheric about it. The noise from the water is actually pretty soothing – I was worried about traffic sounds from the nearby roads, but the Clyde sort of drowns that out in a good way.
What I really appreciated was how the space felt properly lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room clean. I mean, it was clean, don’t get me wrong, but it had character. The kitchen was actually functional – not one of those token setups where you can barely boil water. I ended up cooking a few meals because, honestly, it felt natural to do so. The whole setup works well if you’re staying more than just a night or two. Getting around from here is pretty straightforward once you figure out the bus routes, though I’d recommend having the Citymapper app handy for the first day or so. The walk into the city center is doable if you don’t mind a bit of exercise, but there are definitely easier options. Parking was surprisingly manageable – not something you can say about everywhere in Glasgow these days. The check-in process was smooth enough, though you’ll want to make sure you have the right contact details sorted since it’s not like a traditional hotel front desk situation. For a 3-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of comfort and that view really does make a difference to the whole experience.

Loved the location and beds very comfortable. Flat nice and bright and well equipped local transport great and easy walk to town and local attractions. Convient store and takeaway nearby also.

Nice flat with a good view of the clyde. It was well prepared and felt more like a mini hotel rather than an apartment, extra towels etc. Not too far from the city center so that was handy. All in all a lovely little apartment and will book again and would recommend others to book 👌😁

Lovely location. Rooms great size. Beds comfortable. On site parking. Views were amazing.
What could be improved: Broken, chipped, dirty, wet crockery, pots and cutlery. Insufficient mugs and glasses for guests.
Plates did not fit in the dishwasher and permit it to work as designed.
Poor attention to general cleaning details – kitchen cupboard grubby and disorganised. Toilet rolls in holder soaked. Hair around toilets and shower.
Towel rail in bathroom broken, leaving fixings sticking out of the wall.
Appliances PAT testing out of date by 2 years.
Electrical socket in twin bedroom damaged.
Security door entry buzzer very, very quick.

Él lugar era muy tranquilo, residencial, alejado del centro.el departamento es comodo y está bien implementado.
What could be improved: Hay 2 detalles para mejorar: faltan papeleros en los baños, para botar la basura propia de baño. Y lo otro es que la lavadora secadora no seca nada. Entonces fue un problema porque esa fue una de las razones por la que elegimos ese lugar. Considerar eso.

What could be improved: Otroligt svårt att komma in i lägenheten. Även om vi fick en väldigt utförlig beskrivning. Flera sidor lång. Vi hade ingen värme under vistelsen pga att den informationen fanns djupt inne i en annan lång finstilt text på en hemsida. wij gingen voor een wedstrijd op Ibrox en dat ligt op loopafstand, dus helemaal goed. vlakbij ook de metro en na zeven haltes ben je downtown Glasgow. drie slaapkamers dus voor zeker zes mensen ruimte, wel twee in een stapelbed. goed werkende WiFi. met duidelijke instructie konden we via de deur en het codeslot naar binnen.
