Lovely 1-bedroom property with balcony in West end Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the Lovely 1-bedroom property with balcony in West end? It’s actually way more charming than the straightforward name suggests. I mean, when I first saw it tucked away on Wyndford Road, I wasn’t expecting much – but honestly, this little spot in Glasgow‘s West End has this surprisingly cozy vibe that grows on you pretty quickly.
The location is what really makes it work, if I’m being honest. You’re right in the thick of the West End without dealing with the chaos of Byres Road or the student crowds around the university. Wyndford Road itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open (which you’ll want to do since that balcony gets lovely evening light). It’s about a ten-minute walk to get to the real action – Great Western Road with all its pubs and that brilliant little deli, or you can head toward Partick for the subway. The walking isn’t bad at all, and you get to see some of those gorgeous Victorian tenements along the way.
What I really appreciated was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile – you know those rental properties that feel like no human has ever actually relaxed there? This isn’t that. The balcony, small as it is, actually gets you excited about your morning coffee, especially if you’re there during one of those rare sunny Glasgow stretches. The bedroom’s got decent natural light, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than I expected from a 3-star spot. I will say the bathroom’s a bit cramped (aren’t they all in these converted flats?), but everything works properly and the water pressure’s solid. Check-in was straightforward enough, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since it’s not like a hotel with a 24-hour desk. The whole building’s pretty quiet – I think it’s mostly locals and longer-term visitors rather than party-goers, which worked perfectly for me. One thing worth noting is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, so if you’re driving, factor in some extra time to find a spot on the street. But really, once you’re settled in, you’ll probably find yourself walking everywhere anyway – that’s half the charm of staying in the West End.

Reviews of Lovely 1-bedroom property with balcony in West end
One week stay – Fallon from United Kingdom – June 18, 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was very spacious and was very cosy for a one week stay. We really enjoyed the balcony outside :))
What could be improved: The location was a little dodgy and I'm not sure if we would like to stay in this specific area again. But we had a great time and the hosts were lovely.Very comfortable, clean with everything you need & lovely little touches. – Samantha from United Kingdom – April 8, 2024 (8/10)
Lovely little touches such as milk in the fridge & fresh flowers in the hall.
Very Good – Jose from United Kingdom – December 27, 2023 (8/10)
Plenty of room to have a confortable stay.
What could be improved: Cleanse of sofa.Ok-ish but dirty and not suited for 3 people – Jeanne from United Kingdom – April 6, 2024 (6/10)
Key box is handy.
Good to have the washing machine/dyer available
What could be improved: Area/estate is a bit rough. Doesn't feel too safe.
Not enough bedsheets for the 3rd guest in the sofa bed. Had to sleep with towels!
Bedroom very dirty. Especially the 'baby bed' area. Very badWould 100% recommend and would stay here again. – Sara from Australia – July 8, 2024 (10/10)
Spacious one bed apartment. Bathroom and rooms were lovely and modern. Many facilities on-site such as a washing machine, dishwasher, dryer (which was located in a lovely balcony area) etc. There were also plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits provided which was wonderful. The building is also quite secure. The owners were also lovely and very responsive to our questions (we initially were not sure which apartment it was as booking.com did not show the apartment number).
What could be improved: There are quite a few stairs but we were already aware of this. Something to keep in mind if you have a pram/heavy luggage.Wonderful – Caroline from United Kingdom – November 11, 2023 (9/10)
Very cosy, comfortable apartment. We loved the wee balcony. Lovely 25min walk to west end. Great to have the Tesco so handy too. Great spot!
Comfortable 1 bedroom stay, felt expensive – Prerak_agrawal from India – June 19, 2023 (9/10)
Location was a great advantage, near good restaurants and a Tesco megastore. The place was very comfortable with the right type of amenities available, dimmable lights in the bathroom, and a ceiling fan in the living area.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the property is on the second floor and does not have a lift access. It was something that we didn't expect and was a bit of a major letdown for us. It was an issue because we had to carry our child in the lap and assist my mother in walking up. The price felt to be on the higher side, considering the property sizeTrades Description Act might have something to say – Not recommended – Marie from United Kingdom – September 12, 2024 (3/10)
Bathroom and kitchen were fine. Bedding and towels were clean. The iron was working. The dishwasher was in working order. The shower was good temperature but low pressure. 20 mins enjoyable walk along the River to the West End
What could be improved: Lovely – no. Balcony – stretching it. West End – no 1960s ex council flat on Maryhill.
The flat was not very clean. The fridge hadn’t been cleaned at all. The sofa was dirty and had to be covered by a sheet. The strange baby bed in the bedroom was filthy. The ironing board needs a new cover. The decor needs attention. There were great holes in the wallpaper on the ceiling. The electric wiring is questionable. Some were exposed in one cupboard. The microwave was plugged in on extension lead under the sink. The photos don’t do it justice. It’s not a holiday flat sadly.Gute Lage, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhälntis, aber schlechte Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber. – Matthias from Germany – October 29, 2023 (7/10)
Molto curato nei particolari – Nicoletta from Italy – July 24, 2023 (9/10)
