I mean, when you first walk into the lobby, there’s this understated modern vibe that doesn’t scream “look at me” – it’s more like someone who’s confident but doesn’t need to prove it. The staff actually seemed happy to be there, which honestly is rarer than it should be in hotels these days.

What I loved most was how they’ve managed to capture that Glasgow spirit without being cheesy about it. The interiors have these subtle nods to the city’s industrial heritage – I noticed some really cool lighting fixtures that reminded me of old shipyard details, but in a sophisticated way. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping into furniture every time you turn around, and the beds… well, let’s just say I had zero trouble sleeping. The soundproofing is actually pretty impressive too, considering you’re right in the heart of everything. I was expecting typical city hotel noise, but it was surprisingly quiet at night.

The location is brilliant – you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing, and I mean actually walk, not that “short walk” hotels claim that turns into a 20-minute trek. Merchant City is right there, which is perfect if you want to explore Glasgow’s cultural quarter without dealing with taxis or figuring out the subway system. The breakfast was solid too (nothing revolutionary, but they do a proper Scottish breakfast if that’s your thing), and the coffee was actually decent – not that burnt hotel lobby stuff you sometimes get. With an 8.8 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I totally get why. It’s the kind of place where everything just works smoothly, from check-in to checkout, without any of those little irritations that can derail a trip. Plus, the value is spot-on for what you’re getting – four-star comfort without the pretentious attitude that sometimes comes with it.

  Our stay was brilliant, the hotel was lovely and so was our room, lovely layout and bed was super comfortable. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The hotel is also in a great location, stone through away from cinema and only a few minute walk down to town. Lots of food places and pubs surrounding the hotel which was very convenient for us. Overall we loved our stay and will definitely be using again.
