Number 10 Hotel Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Number 10 Hotel? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you, but somehow ends up doing exactly that. I mean, when you first walk in, there’s this understated elegance that feels refreshingly honest – no marble waterfalls or overly dramatic lighting, just really thoughtful design choices that make you want to settle in immediately.

The 4-star rating honestly feels about right, though I’d argue they’re punching above their weight in some areas. The rooms have this perfect balance of modern comfort without feeling sterile – you know how some boutique places can feel like you’re sleeping in a showroom? Not here. The beds are genuinely comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), and they’ve got these little touches that show someone actually thought about how people use hotel rooms. Plenty of outlets near the bed, decent lighting for reading, and – this might sound silly – but the hangers in the closet are actually good ones, not those flimsy things that break if you look at them wrong. The bathrooms are well-appointed too, with water pressure that doesn’t disappoint and toiletries that don’t smell like generic hotel soap.

What really sells me on this place, though, is the service. It’s attentive without being hovering – the staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay smooth rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was surprisingly quick, and when I had a question about late checkout, they were flexible in a way that felt like they were actually listening rather than just reciting policy. The 8.5 rating makes total sense when you experience how they handle the little things that can make or break a trip. Honestly, I’ve stayed at places with higher star ratings that felt way more impersonal. The common areas have this lived-in quality that invites you to actually use them – I ended up working from the lobby one morning because the atmosphere was just right, not too quiet but not chaotic either. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a well-run home than a corporate hotel, this might be exactly what you need.

  • Joanne from United Kingdom (9/10)

Small, cosy hotel with lovely bar. The hotel has two buildings so if you are in Club rooms, you do need to go outside to the other building to use the bar or for breakfast. Club room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Situated in Queens Park which is not the city centre, rather it's in the suburban south side of the city. It was perfect for us as visiting friends nearby.
