One Bed Holiday Home in the Heart of Glasgow Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to One Bed Holiday Home in the Heart of Glasgow, you’ll find yourself on Drygate — honestly, one of those streets that perfectly captures Glasgow’s character. The building itself has that classic Scottish tenement charm, and when you step into flat 0/5, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about making this space work for travelers. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I really appreciate in a four-star property.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Central Glasgow — you’re genuinely in the thick of everything without feeling overwhelmed by tourist crowds. Drygate puts you within easy walking distance of the Merchant City area, and I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be at some of the city’s best pubs and restaurants within minutes. The Cathedral and Necropolis are just up the road if you’re into that sort of atmospheric wandering. What really sold me on this spot is how couples seem to gravitate toward it — there’s something about the neighborhood that just works for romantic city breaks.
The Space
The one-bedroom setup is thoughtfully designed, actually — none of that cramped feeling you sometimes get with city accommodations. The living area flows naturally into the kitchen space, and you know what, having your own kitchen in Glasgow is brilliant because you can grab fresh ingredients from the nearby markets. The bedroom feels separate enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re living in a studio, and the whole place has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to stay longer than planned.
Practical Perks
Let’s talk about something that matters more than people admit — parking in Glasgow can be an absolute nightmare, but this place actually offers free private parking on site. I mean, that alone probably saves you £20-30 a day and eliminates the stress of circling blocks looking for a spot. The 8.2 rating from recent guests isn’t just numbers either — you can feel it in the attention to details like having proper WiFi that actually works and little touches that show someone cares about the guest experience.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to this place is how it strikes that perfect balance between being in the heart of the action while still feeling like a proper home base. You’re not just staying somewhere — you’re actually living in Glasgow for a few days. The fact that couples consistently rate it highly tells you something about the atmosphere here; it’s got that cozy factor that makes you want to linger over morning coffee before heading out to explore. Plus, when you’ve been walking around the city all day, coming back to your own space with a kitchen and comfortable living area feels like such a win compared to being stuck in a standard hotel room.
Glasgow’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Victorian elegance and modern Scottish hospitality, with many featuring spa services and authentic Highland cultural experiences.

Nice clean apartment.
What could be improved: No mattress protector in the double bed and there was some staining on the mattress.Appartement à proximité de Queen Street Station – Jocelyn from France – August 22, 2025 (7/10)
Appartement à proximité de la gare Queen Street Station (10 minutes à pied).
What could be improved: Appartement un peu loin de la gare Glasgow Central.
Petit problème d'isolation phonique.
Nous étions 4 : 2 adultes et 2 enfants. Le clic clac pour enfant était beaucoup trop petit.
Matelas peu confortables et ustensiles abîmés (poêles, casseroles).Superbe – Mickael from France – August 11, 2025 (10/10)
La proximité du centre ville
La grande propreté de l’appartement
Le ptit balcon agréable
Bonne connexion wifiAbsolutely loved it – didn’t want to leave. I felt like a real Glaswegian! – Merrilyn from Australia – May 22, 2025 (10/10)
Fabulous location, right next to the Cathedral district and a stroll away from an Aldi and George Square. Everything you need for a short or longer stay, including a washer. Lovely bright flat drenched with afternoon sunlight. Free parking outside the door, only 3 stairs to the flat entry. Thanks so much for the photos – very helpful for finding the flat and parking space.
What could be improved: The enclosed balcony was great for drying the washing, but could do with a thorough clean. A description of how to lock the door is needed!Great central location – Denise from Australia – November 6, 2024 (10/10)
Location to city centre
What could be improved: NothingExceptional – Alex from United Kingdom – August 29, 2024 (10/10)
Booked this while my wife was going into Glasgow royal
Great location with parking so totally hassle freeScandalous – David from United Kingdom – April 7, 2024 (3/10)
Close to the city centre, warm and comfortable.
What could be improved: It's a spruced up council flat in a social housing block, so you're paying top tier money for a bottom tier place. The day before arrival I was informed that a £250 deposit was required or I'd lose the booking, and that the free parking is shared and first come first served.
The shower didn't drain properly and there was hair and soap scum left from the previous resident, there was stale food left in the cupboards, we had half a toilet roll for a three day stay, the soap was not new, and the entrance hallway always smelled of weed.Exceptional – Ryan from United Kingdom – November 12, 2023 (10/10)
So disappointing and so expensive – Louise from United Kingdom – September 26, 2022 (2/10)
It was clean
What could be improved: A HUGE sum of money to pay for a very basic flat in social housing estate.
Advertised with free parking but after booking we learnt the parking was limited. Street parking was for a max of 3 hours
Sofa bed didn't come with a fitted sheet
Hot water pressure supplied a mere trickle
Neighborhood was impoverished and felt rough. We were unable to leave our girls to walk into town on her own.
Overall the flat was not as described and £460 for two nights was extortionate
