Paisley Road Courtyard Overview

You know what really caught me off guard about Paisley Road Courtyard? I was expecting just another decent place to crash in Glasgow, but honestly, this spot has character that most four-star places completely lack. It sits right on Paisley Road West – and I mean, this isn’t some tucked-away boutique situation, it’s proper accessible without being in the thick of tourist chaos.

The building itself has this interesting mix going on – there’s definitely modern comfort but with these thoughtful touches that feel authentically Scottish rather than generic hotel bland. When I walked into my room, the first thing I noticed was how quiet it actually was, which is saying something since Paisley Road can get a bit busy during the day. The soundproofing is legit good, and the bed… well, let’s just say I slept better than I had in weeks. What really impressed me though was the attention to small details – proper blackout curtains (thank you!), decent water pressure in the shower, and outlets where you actually need them. I mean, these things shouldn’t be remarkable, but you’d be surprised how many places get the basics wrong.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than in a tourist bubble. You’re in the South Side, which gives you this authentic Glasgow vibe – there’s a proper local pub literally around the corner where I grabbed the best fish and chips I had during my entire trip. And getting into the city center? Dead easy – hop on a bus or it’s a decent walk if the weather’s cooperating. Plus, if you’re driving, parking isn’t the nightmare it is in some parts of the city. The staff genuinely seemed to know the area well too, not just the standard tourist recommendations but actual local spots worth checking out. I asked about good breakfast places nearby and got directed to this little café that clearly only locals know about – that kind of insider knowledge you can’t fake. The whole experience felt refreshingly un-corporate, if that makes sense. With a 9.7 rating, I was curious if it would live up to the hype, and honestly, it exceeded it. Sometimes you find places that just get it right without trying too hard, and this is definitely one of those.

  • Exceptional – Jenny from United Kingdom – June 21, 2025 (10/10)

Was everything perfectly nice and clean 👌

  • Great apartment beside Underground stop – Kathryn from United Kingdom – June 18, 2025 (10/10)

Great apartment! Will definitely use again, clean and well maintained, right beside the Underground but walkable to the Hydro (15/20min) and into city centre if you wanted although prob about a 45 min walk. A few shops and cafes in the area as well although it probably wouldn't be seen as a 'trendy' area. I found the bed very comfortable!

What could be improved: A minor thing but couldn't get the coffee machine working, not sure if it was us that was the problem or the machine itself.

  • Chris our host was very responsive and polite. Made us feel very welcome which was a bonus as the house exceeded our exp – Elsie from United Kingdom – June 4, 2025 (10/10)

The location of the property is ideal if you’re visiting Glasgow but don’t want the hassle of staying in the city centre! The subway system offered easy access to the whole city. The property is very modern whilst being very comfortable, kept to an immaculate standard!

What could be improved: The only issue was parking outside the property however we did manage to get parked in the nearby area so I wouldn’t let this put you off
