Pass the Keys Cosy 1 bed next to SEC, OVO Hydro, Finnieston Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – Pass the Keys Cosy 1 bed next to SEC, OVO Hydro, Finnieston isn’t going to win any design awards, but if you’re heading to Glasgow for a gig or event at the Hydro, this little place is actually pretty perfect. I mean, you can literally walk to the venue in about three minutes, which is brilliant when you’re stumbling back after a late concert and don’t fancy waiting for an Uber in the rain (and trust me, it will be raining).
The flat itself is exactly what it says on the tin – cosy. And by cosy, I mean properly small, but not in a claustrophobic way. More like… well, you know those New York apartments that feel snug but somehow work? It’s got that vibe. The bed’s comfortable enough, and there’s a decent little kitchen if you want to grab some bits from the Tesco Express down the road instead of paying venue prices for a sad sandwich. What I really liked was how quiet it stays despite being so close to everything – the SEC and Hydro can get absolutely mental during events, but somehow the noise doesn’t really carry to the flat. Though honestly, if there’s a massive show on, you’ll hear the crowd when they all pile out, but that’s kind of fun in its own way.
The Finnieston area has really come up in the world, actually. You’ve got some cracking restaurants within walking distance – Ox and Finch is just down the road if you want to splash out, or there are loads of decent pubs if that’s more your speed. The Clydeside Distillery is right there too, which I wasn’t expecting but ended up being a nice little discovery. What’s really handy is that you’re close enough to the city center to walk (maybe 15-20 minutes along the river), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with all the weekend chaos on Buchanan Street. The riverside walk is actually lovely when the weather cooperates, and you get some proper good views of the city from that stretch. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare if you’re driving – it’s all permit zones around there – but honestly, you probably don’t need a car anyway since you’re so close to everything. The flat’s got that slightly generic rental property feel, you know? Clean and functional but not exactly bursting with personality. Still, for a 3-star place with a 7.4 rating, it does exactly what you need it to do without any nasty surprises.

Great location for concert. The bed was extremely comfortable. Clean and warm flat.
Had trouble locating the flat, but Pass The Keys were excellent and even sent someone to help us find it.Daniel from New Zealand (6/10)
The place was very clean and comfortable. A little bit out of the centre but close to the Hydro arena and the Kelvingrove museum. It was a fairly easy check-in and staff were responsive and friendly. Staff were nice enough to allow us to check-in early, although possibly some miscommunication as they then said we were no longer allowed to after we had already checked in.
