But honestly, after staying here in Kinning Park, I get why they went with it. The location really is something special, and the 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’re actually there.
The thing about this place is that it sits right on Rutland Court, which – if you don’t know Glasgow well – puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the city center that you can walk or grab a quick bus, but far enough south that you’re not dealing with all the weekend noise from the main strips. I mean, Kinning Park isn’t the most glamorous neighborhood name, but it’s actually become quite popular with locals who want something a bit more authentic than the tourist-heavy areas. You’ve got the River Clyde practically on your doorstep, and honestly, some of the best walking paths in the city if you’re into that sort of thing.
What struck me most was how they’ve managed to create this boutique hotel feel without getting all pretentious about it – there’s no official star rating, which actually works in their favor because they’re not trying to fit into some rigid hotel category. The two-bedroom setup is perfect if you’re traveling with family or friends, or even if you just want extra space to spread out (and let’s face it, after cramped hotel rooms, having an actual living area feels like pure luxury). The apartment has this lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s place rather than some sterile accommodation. I noticed they’ve paid attention to the little things – decent coffee setup, proper blackout curtains, and thank god, reliable wifi that actually works throughout the space.
The area comes alive in the evenings, but not in an overwhelming way. There’s this great local pub just a few minutes’ walk away that most tourists never find, and the morning light coming off the Clyde is genuinely beautiful if you’re an early riser. Parking isn’t too much of a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in Glasgow will tell you is no small feat. You know what really sold me though? The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no standing around lobbies or dealing with overly formal staff. It felt more like picking up keys from a friend, which honestly matched the whole vibe of the place perfectly.

The property was really clean and well located. The host was very responsive and answered all questions promptly. He also gave great instructions for check in and parking. Parking was available on site. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable and there was sufficient closet space.
What could be improved: If anyone is bothered by traffic noise I’d suggest getting ear plugs but it wasn’t excessive. Perfectly situated flat, with bus links nearby and distance to the city 30min walk.
The host was very helpful and gave clear instructions on where to find what.
What could be improved: The flat is looking into the street, even tho it's not a super busy street, you can still hear the noise from it. So would consider bringing some earplugs if you're sensitive to noises.
The flat also doesn't have any toiletries in it, so consider bringing your own.
