During the day, sure, Balmaha can get a bit busy with people coming to catch the ferry or start their West Highland Way trek, but by evening it’s just you and the loch and maybe the occasional sheep wandering past. The lodge sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk down to the water in about three minutes, but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the daytime crowds.   We enjoyed our weekend. The lodge was comfortable and provided the basics needed. Owner was friendly and helpful. Location to the loch and the local village is excellent. The Oak Tree Inn is a short walk away for dinner and take away.
