Point A Hotel Glasgow Overview
You know what struck me first about Point A Hotel Glasgow? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – and honestly, that’s refreshing. I mean, you walk into the lobby and it’s clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious for what you’d expect from a 3-star spot in the city center. The whole design has this minimalist thing going on with pops of color that actually work, not like some places where it feels like they just threw paint at the walls and hoped for the best.
The rooms are compact but cleverly laid out – I’m talking about that kind of smart design where everything has its place and you’re not tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. The bed was actually comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), though the pillows were a bit on the firm side if that matters to you. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, even though you’re right in the heart of Glasgow. The windows do a decent job of keeping out the street noise, which is no small feat considering how lively the city gets, especially on weekends. The bathroom’s small but functional – good water pressure in the shower, which honestly makes or breaks a hotel stay for me.
Staff-wise, they seem to know their stuff about the city without being pushy about it. When I asked about getting to the West End, the guy at reception gave me actual useful directions instead of just pointing vaguely down the street. Check-in was smooth, no standing around forever, and they were pretty flexible about letting me store my bags before the room was ready. The location really is the sweet spot – you’re walking distance to pretty much everything you’d want to see, from the Merchant City area to George Square, but you’re not paying those premium rates you’d get at some of the fancier hotels nearby. I noticed quite a few business travelers mixed in with tourists, which usually means a place has figured out that balance between comfort and value. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches, but sometimes you just want a solid place to sleep that doesn’t feel like you’re roughing it or breaking the bank.

Always the best choice. Everywhere in the Uk.
Wendy from United Kingdom (9/10)
Great location. Room basic, but cleverly designed and had everything I needed for a short stay.
Would say the loo a bit small; I’m only 5ft 1ish and my knees nearly touched the wall when sat.
Breakfast was continental so a bit disappointing that no hot items on offer.Jacqueline from United Kingdom (8/10)
The warm welcome and friendly staff

Although the room was advertised as no window it did have a frosted glass panel and was nice and bright. Very central to the city centre. Staff were great.

The basic but modern, clean and well-sized rooms & en-suite. The location is great for exploring the city centre and easily reachable on foot from the Central Station. The staff were all helpful, friendly and polite.
