Location-wise, Bath Street puts you right in the thick of things without the constant noise of the main tourist drags. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Sauchiehall Street if you want shopping or nightlife, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. Glasgow‘s city center is pretty walkable anyway, so you can easily get to the Merchant City area for dinner or catch a show at the Theatre Royal without needing taxis. I actually walked to Central Station one morning – took maybe fifteen minutes at a leisurely pace. The street itself can get a bit busy during rush hour since it’s a main thoroughfare, but the windows do a decent job keeping the traffic noise down. Parking can be tricky if you’ve got a car (it’s city center, what do you expect?), but there are a few paid lots nearby if you’re willing to spend the extra cash. With an 8.1 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after spending several nights there, I can see why people keep coming back.
