Principal Apartments – Clyde Waterfront Apartments Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Principal Apartments – Clyde Waterfront Apartments, I wasn’t sure what to expect from another waterfront property. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location right along the Clyde is something special, and I mean that – you’re literally steps from the water with those incredible views that change throughout the day. I found myself just standing by the windows in the morning with my coffee, watching the river come alive.
What really struck me about these apartments is how they’ve managed to feel both upscale and genuinely livable at the same time. The 4-star rating isn’t just for show – there’s real attention to detail here, from the quality of the fixtures to the way the spaces are laid out. The apartments themselves are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped (which, let’s face it, can be an issue with some city accommodations), and honestly, the kitchen setups are better than what I have at home. I actually ended up cooking a few meals instead of eating out every night, which saved me money and gave me a chance to shop at the local markets nearby.
The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places where the small things add up to something really impressive. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing, check-in was smooth, and when I had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi on my second day, they sorted it out within an hour. The waterfront location means you’re close to some fantastic walking paths along the river, and I discovered this great little café about a five-minute walk away that locals seem to frequent. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy periods (I learned that the hard way), but they do have options and the staff will point you in the right direction. The area gets pleasantly quiet in the evenings – you get that gentle sound of water without the chaos of a busy tourist district. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, and you want that waterfront experience without paying resort prices, this is definitely worth considering.
To book a hotel in Glasgow during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this vibrant Scottish city draws visitors eager to experience its Victorian heritage and modern artistic scene.

Rachel from United Kingdom (10/10)
Spacious for 4 people – nice separation between bedrooms and living space so sleep not disturbed. Great views over the river
Colleen from United Kingdom (9/10)
The apartment was spacious, with plenty of storage and was very clean. fixtures and fittings were of a excellent standard and the bed was huge and very comfy. The location, overlooking the Clyde was great, handy for everything in the centre; sites, shopping, restaurants. Communication from the management team was prompt and being personally 'checked in' and shown how everything worked, was great. Also secure parking (Q-Park) 2 mins walk away.

The apartment was well maintained, clean, spacious, well located and the view was fantastic.
Michael from United States (10/10)
Location was beautiful with a view of trees and the river through large wall of glass and small deck (which we did not use due to wind and temp). Closeness to some wonderful traditional old pubs (Scotia, Clutha, McScorsley) and shopping center was an unexpected bonus.

The building has an excellent position, looking over to the beautiful sandstone Carlton Court on the other side of the clyde and full view of the portland street suspension bridge. The early morning trains coming in an out of Glasgow Central were a treat, the snake of cars in the background heading to the southside – and a clear view of the key bridges over the clyde.
The balcony provided a fascinating perspective of the city. But once the doors were closed – it was a peaceful, quiet and comfortable apartment.Ruth from United Kingdom (8/10)
The apartment was located very well for both city center and music venues, fabulous views of the Clyde and bridges especially in the evening when it was lit up. Bedrooms are set to the rear of the apartment so quiet for sleeping even with the window open.

Amazing apartment. Very comfortable and beautiful river view. Easy walk to the train station and everything in city center.
