Plus, you can walk to the main shopping areas in about five minutes, or hop over to the Cathedral and Necropolis when you want something completely different. I actually found myself using the apartment as a proper base rather than just a place to crash – that 9.3 rating isn’t just for show. The staff know their stuff too; they’ll point you toward the good curry places on Sauchiehall Street or tell you which pubs have live music on weeknights. It’s that kind of local knowledge that makes the difference between a decent stay and one where you actually feel connected to the city.
