Sauchiehall Street West End Apartment Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Sauchiehall Street West End Apartment, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another Glasgow tenement building. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside. This 3-star spot sits right on one of the city’s most famous streets, and I mean right on it – you’re basically living like a local for however long you’re staying.
The thing about this place is its position on Sauchiehall Street actually works in your favor, especially if you’re the type who likes to walk everywhere. I found myself just stepping out the door and being minutes away from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery (honestly, don’t skip it even if museums aren’t usually your thing), and Glasgow University is practically a stroll through the park – literally through Kelvingrove Park if you take the scenic route. The West End has this completely different vibe from the city center, more relaxed somehow, with those tree-lined streets and the kind of cafes where students actually study instead of just posing with their laptops.
What surprised me most was how quiet it got at night, considering you’re on such a busy street during the day. The apartment itself feels properly lived-in rather than sterile – you know those places that are so “hotel clean” they feel soulless? This isn’t that. The furnishings are comfortable without being fancy, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase properly, which I always appreciate on longer stays. The kitchen setup is decent enough that I ended up grabbing groceries from the Sainsbury’s down the street a few times instead of eating out every meal (your wallet will thank you, trust me). The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it does exactly what it promises to do, and it does it well. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the West End’s pubs, galleries, and that amazing Finnieston area that everyone talks about, this gives you a proper base without the tourist-trap pricing of the city center hotels.

Great location, lots of space and excellent place to be for a weekend in the best city! – Caroline from United Kingdom – June 29, 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: One bathroom proved a bit challenging, but we knew this before going.Great spacious apartment in an excellent location in Glasgow. – Teresa from United Kingdom – May 6, 2024 (8/10)
Great location, lots of space
What could be improved: Not a very well equipped kitchen – there was only 1 pot.Had a very nice overnight stay, comfortable but basic. – Sandra from United Kingdom – November 13, 2024 (7/10)
It was very basic for the cost, but satisfactory.
What could be improved: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.Good – Jo from United Kingdom – July 25, 2024 (7/10)
There were four of us so the place was big enough for us all. Kitchen was nice and the bathroom and shower were fine. Good location and close to where we were going.
What could be improved: The hidden £100 deposit – informed on the day we arrived. They say it's in the policies but it really needs to be in the booking confirmation. Not everyone has an extra £100 on a weekend away…
Kitchen had literally nothing in it. No salt, tea, coffee, milk, basic condiments or cooking oil.
Towels were tiny and only one towel per bed so none for drying your hair.
Flat was ok but very overpriced for what it was.Very Good – Judith from United Kingdom – August 3, 2024 (8/10)
Great location
What could be improved: Property was tiredWonderful – Aileen from United Kingdom – May 23, 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Kitchen utensils very limitedClean, comfortable & a cozy home from home – Jakkie from United Kingdom – December 10, 2024 (10/10)
Friendly staff. The apartment was very comfortable with everything we needed and more. Very cozy for the 2 frosty days we were there. We will be back as perfect location for us also.
What could be improved: A light at the front door would be usefulExceptional – Obiageli from United Kingdom – September 15, 2024 (10/10)
It is very spacious and located in a strategic location
Pleasant – Josh from United Kingdom – August 25, 2023 (10/10)
Great location. Spacious, clean accommodation. Great host
What could be improved: Nothing. All good.Could have been great – Nicoletta0407 from Germany – August 17, 2024 (5/10)
Location was great and the apartment was quite spacious. The big kitchen with dining table was lovely and tge bedrooms were huge.
What could be improved: The £100 damage deposit!. Whilst having sympathy that this may be necessary, the way this was handled was wrong (e.g. there was no handover or advice on existing damage and, when we left, there was again no handover. We were told that during cleaning they would assess and then issue a refund. We took photos of some pre existing damage as a precaution. Also, despite trying all sorts of things, we could not get the shower to warm up. One of our party came from work and was getting ready for the evening wedding reception ( with a cold shower- not great). My husband and I were day guests, but our 3 children and 1 partner were going to cook something- just to discover that the hob was not working. Again, there might be something we did wrong, but I tried on the morning and have experience with those save cooking tops, and I could not get it to work either. The smiling person at reception reassured us that ' all is fine' and 'management was aware'. No, it's not fine: for £289 per night, I expect a warm shower and tge hob to be functioning ( and if there is a sequence for instructions to be available.
