What really sold me though was the view – depending on which way you’re facing, you get either the river or the city, and both are pretty spectacular, especially in the evening when the lights start coming on.

Location-wise, you’re in the sweet spot of Finnieston, which has really transformed over the past few years. I mean, you can walk to the Riverside Museum in about ten minutes, and the whole Clydeside area is right there for morning runs or evening strolls. The restaurant scene around here is actually fantastic – Ox and Finch isn’t far if you can snag a reservation, and there are plenty of solid pubs within stumbling distance. Getting into the city center is easy enough on foot (maybe 15-20 minutes depending on your pace), or the subway’s close by if you’re feeling lazy. Parking can be a bit tricky on Kent Road itself, but there are options nearby, and the hotel folks were pretty helpful with suggestions when I asked. The 9.3 rating this place has earned makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be a five-star palace, but it nails what it’s going for: a comfortable, stylish base that feels authentically Glasgow without the tourist trap vibe.
