The kitchen‘s got enough counter space that you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to save some money (and let’s face it, eating out in Glasgow every night adds up fast). What I really appreciated was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile – there are little touches that make it feel like someone’s actual home rather than a corporate rental property.

Location-wise, you’re well-positioned without being right in the thick of tourist chaos. Brighton Place is quiet enough that you’ll actually get some sleep, but you’re still close enough to the Central West End that you can walk to decent pubs and restaurants without needing to figure out the bus system every time you want a pint. I mean, Glasgow’s public transport isn’t bad, but there’s something to be said for being able to stumble home after a night out at one of the local spots. The area has that authentic Glasgow residential feel – you’ll see actual locals going about their business rather than just other tourists with cameras. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s tried to park in central Glasgow will tell you is no small thing.

Now, I should mention this isn’t a luxury experience – it’s a solid 3-star place that does what it says on the tin. The rating sits at 6.5, which feels about right. It’s clean, functional, and comfortable, but don’t expect boutique hotel touches or someone bringing you fresh towels every day. The WiFi worked fine (always my first concern), and the heating kept the place warm enough during those damp Glasgow evenings. Check-in was straightforward – none of that running around the city trying to find someone with keys nonsense you sometimes get with these independent rentals.

What really sold me on this place was the value proposition. Five bedrooms in Glasgow, even on the South side, for what you’re paying? That’s honestly pretty decent, especially if you’re splitting costs with a group. Sure, you’re not staying in some Instagram-worthy boutique spot in the Merchant City, but you’ve got space to spread out, a proper kitchen, and you’re still within reach of everything that makes Glasgow worth visiting. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need – a comfortable base that doesn’t eat your entire travel budget.

  the house itself is just beautiful, The owner was nothing but brilliant as any question or request i had was answered and fixed quickly, the price we paid was good and the cheapest in the area at the time and it was close to where we were going and noticed the next day there is a subway very close by if you want to go to other places in Glasgow, very comfortable and has everything except a microwave, just for quickness, wifi with internet television in the living room, partner loved the shower room. the mural at the back in my opinion should be restored – each room had a double bed – heating was lovely and the house was cozy
  
  What could be improved: no microwave which for a one night stay is probably essential for quick meals and no bath especially in a house that size, but that's just my personal preference any works ongoing need to be completed, for us it wasnt an issue but other folk might find it an issue

  What could be improved: Back door unlockable so whole house unsafe. Oven / cooker unsafe and unusable (control loose so no way to control gas level. Oven filthy and no oven shelves. Some light fittings just hanging with loose wires. No tea / coffee machine, no toiletries put out despite being promised on Booking.com. One bed not made up and one had loose spring sticking out. Stains on carpet.
