First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Stunning 4 bedroom country house – Hot Tub & Sauna on Cochno Road, I honestly wasn’t prepared for how peaceful it would feel. You know that moment when you step out of your car and actually hear birds instead of traffic? That’s what hit me first. This four-star property sits in what feels like proper countryside, even though you’re still technically in Glasgow — which is pretty remarkable when you think about it.

The Space Itself

The house is genuinely spacious, and I mean that in the best way possible. Four bedrooms means you’re not fighting over who gets the good room, and there’s this lovely lived-in quality that makes it feel like a home rather than a sterile rental. The kitchen is well-equipped — I actually cooked a proper breakfast there, which says something about the setup. What really sets this place apart though is the hot tub and sauna combination. After a day exploring the area, sinking into that hot tub while looking out at the Scottish countryside was honestly perfect.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about the location — you get that countryside escape feeling, but Glasgow city center is still totally accessible when you want it. The parking situation is brilliant (free and right on site, which anyone who’s driven in Glasgow will appreciate), and there’s a golf course within a couple miles if that’s your thing. I spent an afternoon fishing nearby, and the locals were friendly enough to point me toward the best spots. The area has this quiet, residential feel that couples seem to really love — honestly, I can see why it gets such high marks for romantic getaways.

What Makes It Special

The hot tub and sauna combo is definitely the star here, but it’s the little details that impressed me most. The house feels thoughtfully set up, like someone actually lives there and cares about the space. You’ll find proper amenities without that generic hotel feeling — it’s more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s country house. The views from the property are lovely too, especially in the evening when everything gets that soft Scottish light. I found myself just sitting outside with a cup of tea more often than I expected.

After spending time here, I totally get why couples rate this place so highly. There’s something about having your own private country house with a hot tub that just works for a romantic escape.   Met familie naar dit mooie, ruime huis aan de rand van Glascow. Een smalle weg leidt naar het huis. Veel ruimte in en om het huis, fijne bank in de woonkamer, grote tuin, de hottub is fijn, vriendelijke hosts.

  What could be improved: In 1 van de slaapkamers kon er helaas maar klein raam open. Overigens kon hier wel de deur naar het balkon opengezet worden, maar voor de nacht was dit wat fris.

  The pictures simply do not do this place justice. it is absolutely stunning inside and out, excellent facilities, well equipped, and so comfy.
  
  What could be improved: Some things were slightly difficult to use without instruction (hot water tap, heating), but this was so minor and doesn’t take anything away from the property.

  Great house – stayed there over Christmas and New Years this past year and was a great space to host family gatherings and I imagine would be even better in warmer weather as there is a nice backyard with a gazebo. Heated floors were a nice surprise, nice office area for me to work while others were in the main room/kitchen which was setup with a nice open plan. We loved the hot tub first thing in the morning, or last thing in the evening and plenty of parking for about 6 cars. Quiet area as well.

  The house is situated in a peaceful and serene location, making it ideal for a relaxing holiday. It is only a short drive away from Glasgow International Airport. Truly a home away from home, beautifully decorated, fully equipped, clean, cosy, warm and welcoming. Gordon is a very hospitable and professional host. He was there to greet us and show us around the house upon our arrival and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
