I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the Stunning 4 bedroom country house – Hot Tub & Sauna on Cochno Road, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward names are the most accurate ones. This place actually lives up to every word in that title, and then some. The location hits that perfect sweet spot where you’re technically still in Glasgow but feel like you’ve escaped to proper countryside – I mean, Cochno Road winds through some genuinely beautiful rolling hills, and you’ll find yourself doing double-takes at the views as you drive up.

The house itself has this wonderful solid Scottish character that you just can’t fake – thick stone walls, generous windows, and rooms that actually feel like rooms (not the cramped boxes you sometimes get). What really got me was how they’ve managed to blend the traditional with modern comforts without making it feel forced. The hot tub situation is genuinely excellent – positioned so you can soak while looking out over the countryside, which is particularly magical if you time it for sunset. And honestly, after a day of exploring Glasgow or hiking around the area, sliding into that sauna feels like pure luxury. The whole setup sleeps eight comfortably across four proper bedrooms, so it’s perfect for families or groups who want space to spread out without falling over each other.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the practical stuff works. Parking‘s easy (which, if you know Glasgow, is not something to take for granted), the heating keeps the whole place properly warm even on those damp Scottish evenings, and the kitchen‘s actually equipped for cooking real meals, not just heating up takeaway. The hosts clearly understand what travelers need because there are thoughtful touches everywhere – good wifi that actually reaches all the rooms, plenty of towels, and they’ve left local recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. You’re about twenty minutes from Glasgow city center, but the drive takes you through some genuinely lovely countryside, and you’ll pass a couple of solid local pubs along the way that are worth stopping at. With an 8.4 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most people, and I can see why – it’s one of those places where you might book for the amenities but end up remembering it for the overall experience of feeling properly relaxed in beautiful surroundings.

  Under floor heating on ground floor. Living space, comfortable bed and jacuzzi.
  
  What could be improved: Dog faeces out on roof balcony by door. Some TLC required on some kitchen cabinets and kick board trim and some exterior doors that do not fit snuggly or dificult to open and close.

  The pictures simply do not do this place justice. it is absolutely stunning inside and out, excellent facilities, well equipped, and so comfy.
  
  What could be improved: Some things were slightly difficult to use without instruction (hot water tap, heating), but this was so minor and doesn’t take anything away from the property.

  Great house – stayed there over Christmas and New Years this past year and was a great space to host family gatherings and I imagine would be even better in warmer weather as there is a nice backyard with a gazebo. Heated floors were a nice surprise, nice office area for me to work while others were in the main room/kitchen which was setup with a nice open plan. We loved the hot tub first thing in the morning, or last thing in the evening and plenty of parking for about 6 cars. Quiet area as well.

  The house is situated in a peaceful and serene location, making it ideal for a relaxing holiday. It is only a short drive away from Glasgow International Airport. Truly a home away from home, beautifully decorated, fully equipped, clean, cosy, warm and welcoming. Gordon is a very hospitable and professional host. He was there to greet us and show us around the house upon our arrival and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

  Met familie naar dit mooie, ruime huis aan de rand van Glascow. Een smalle weg leidt naar het huis. Veel ruimte in en om het huis, fijne bank in de woonkamer, grote tuin, de hottub is fijn, vriendelijke hosts.

  What could be improved: In 1 van de slaapkamers kon er helaas maar klein raam open. Overigens kon hier wel de deur naar het balkon opengezet worden, maar voor de nacht was dit wat fris.
