Stunning West End Flat! Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up North Woodside Road looking for Stunning West End Flat!, I almost missed it entirely. The building looks pretty unassuming from the street, but you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. This isn’t some flashy hotel trying to impress tourists; it’s a proper local spot that feels more like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have excellent taste in neighborhoods.
The location is honestly brilliant, and I mean that – I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Glasgow over the years, and this little corner of the West End hits that sweet spot between accessible and authentically local. You’re about a ten-minute walk from Hillhead subway station (though honestly, the walk is lovely through the tree-lined streets), and even closer to some absolutely cracking pubs and cafes that most visitors never discover. There’s this little bakery just down the road that does these incredible morning rolls – the kind of place where locals queue up on Sunday mornings still in their pajamas under winter coats. The flat itself surprised me with how spacious it feels; these old Glasgow tenements have these gorgeous high ceilings that make even compact spaces feel airy. I spent a good chunk of my first evening just wandering around the neighborhood, and it struck me how quiet North Woodside Road gets after about 9 PM – perfect if you’re someone who actually wants to sleep without earplugs.
What really won me over, though, was the attention to detail. The hosts clearly understand what travelers actually need (proper hangers, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out during video calls, a kitchen stocked with more than just the bare minimum). I found myself cooking dinner a couple of nights because the local Tesco is literally around the corner, and there’s something quite nice about picking up some Scottish salmon and preparing it yourself after a day of exploring. The shower pressure is surprisingly good too – I know that sounds mundane, but after you’ve stood under a few dribbling hotel showerheads, you appreciate the simple luxury of hot water that actually has some force behind it. Plus, and this might sound odd, but the windows are properly soundproofed. Glasgow can get lively on weekend nights (in the best way), but inside the flat, it’s peaceful. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense to me – it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, just delivering exactly what it promises with a bit of local character thrown in for good measure.

This is a really beautiful Victorian flat, very spacious and airy with lovely period features and high ceilings.
On the ground floor and with its own street entrance, but still feels very secure due to two doors.
Great location in the West End of Glasgow with lots of restaurants and bars close by, walking distance to Hunterian & Kelvingrove museums, but still nice and quiet at night.
Highly recommendExceptional – Fabienne from Spain – August 8, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Front door lock very difficult to open. Glass door to bathroom ?? Parking information inadequate. It was nearly the perfect flat for visitors to the West End. Hope to use it again. – Stuart from United Kingdom – July 3, 2025 (9/10)
The size of flat was bigger than expected.
Quieter than expected on cul de sac and secondary glazing. Excellent.
Location was perfect, quiet street close to busy thoroughfare.
Plenty towels.
Nice and clean.
What could be improved: No control over temperature – cold one evening, too hot another.
No windows opened for air or cooling.
Bath difficult for older visitors, could use a rubber mat and shower caps.
Pillows too soft for side sleepers. (Really getting picky here)!Really is Stunning place to stay – Margaret from Australia – June 25, 2025 (10/10)

A very elegant place to stay. – Sara from United Kingdom – February 28, 2025 (9/10)
Exquisite classy apartment in the Wonderful West end. Close to a beautiful river and park , two minutes from Kelvinbridge subway with many wonderful eateries very close by.
The sitting room is particularly nice to spend time and sleeping was great as it was really quiet at night.
What could be improved: The owner controls the heating ,a little strange as some like it cool, some warm and in my case hot, I felt cold at certain times especially in the bathroom.
Parking is very expensive directly outside the apartment, Hence nearly 10 out of 10 but not quite, when all said and done a very good place to stay.Amazing place – Michelle from United Kingdom – February 23, 2025 (10/10)
