Check-in was smooth (they send you all the codes and instructions ahead of time), and there’s something liberating about not having to make small talk with reception staff every time you come and go. The 8.0 rating feels about right – it’s solid, comfortable, and has character, but it’s not trying to be the Ritz. Some of the furniture shows a bit of wear, and the WiFi was a touch spotty in the bedroom, but these are minor things when you’re getting such a unique experience. If you’re the type of traveler who likes having your own space to spread out, wants to feel a bit more like a local than a tourist, and appreciates staying somewhere with some artistic flair, this place delivers. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – you’re trading those hotel perks for something more authentic and, frankly, more interesting.
