What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about getting to the Hunterian Museum, the woman at reception didn’t just point me in the right direction – she mentioned which entrance to use and warned me about the construction work on University Avenue (which, let’s be honest, seems to be perpetual in that area).

The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between comfortable and characterful. Nothing too fancy or trying too hard, but everything works properly and feels thoughtfully put together. The 7.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s solid without being spectacular, which honestly can be exactly what you need. I stayed during a particularly busy weekend when there was some festival happening in Kelvingrove Park, and while the area was buzzing, the hotel remained this calm pocket where you could actually get some decent sleep. The breakfast situation was better than I expected too – proper Scottish ingredients without the tourist trap pricing you sometimes get in city centers. If you’re the type who likes being able to walk to the Botanic Gardens for a morning stroll, or pop over to Ashton Lane for dinner without dealing with city center crowds, this place puts you right where you want to be. It’s that kind of hotel where you feel like you’re staying in a proper Glasgow neighborhood rather than just passing through.

  Great communication with the management company who rented out the property. No problem in finding the lock box to gain access. Location was very peaceful and the property was very clean. It is comfortably furnished and very well equipped. Cannot comment on public transport as we were only there for two nights and used Uber. Great service. I would definitely return.

  free parking and lots of available spaces, really peaceful location with easy 20 min walk to botanics along the river, nice layout, all spotless and things easy to find
