The location alone makes this spot worth considering, especially since you can walk to Buchanan Street for shopping or wander down to the Merchant City area without breaking a sweat.

What I really liked about this place is that it feels more like having your own little apartment than staying in a typical hotel room. The aparthotel setup means you get a proper kitchenette – and honestly, that makes such a difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. I found myself popping into the Tesco Express nearby (there’s one just around the corner) to grab some basics for breakfast instead of paying hotel prices every morning. The rooms themselves are clean and modern, nothing fancy but definitely comfortable. You know what struck me most? The windows actually open properly, which sounds silly but you’d be surprised how many hotels have those awful sealed ones. On quieter nights, I could hear a bit of the city buzz, but it wasn’t intrusive – more like a gentle reminder that you’re in the heart of Glasgow.

The staff here are genuinely helpful without being overly formal about it. Check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about getting to the west end for a gig at the Hydro, the guy at reception actually drew me a little map showing the subway stop. Speaking of transport, the subway’s literally around the corner at St. Enoch – you can be at the university area or out at Ibrox in no time. I stayed during a busy weekend when Celtic were playing at home, and while the city was buzzing, the hotel never felt chaotic or overwhelmed. The 8.2 rating makes perfect sense to me because this isn’t trying to be a luxury destination – it’s just doing the fundamentals really well. Clean, comfortable, perfectly positioned, and reasonably priced for what you get. If you’re the type who wants to spend your time exploring Glasgow rather than lounging in a hotel spa, this is exactly what you need. Plus, being so close to everything means you can easily duck back to drop off shopping bags or grab a jacket if the Scottish weather decides to surprise you.
